Mine would be Avenged Sevenfold. They are amazing, and they always get me through hard times.

Arctic Monkeys. Do I even have to explain?

The Strokes are a close second, and Rise Against isn't too far behind.t

At the moment, the head and the heart.

All time would be Radiohead, Counting Crows, and Led Zeppelin.

    U2.

In my mind, this needs no explanation. They are simply the most amazing band. All of their songs are exactly as they should be. No crazy vocals from Bono, no unnecessarily long guitar solos from The Edge. Adam Clayton's bass riffs may be simple but they are perfect for each song, as is Larry Mullen, Jr.'s drumming. They've been going for over 30 years and they show no signs of stopping any time soon. Each album is better than the last, "No Line on the Horizon" was definitely well worth the wait! I could go on and on and on about why they are phenomenal...

Super difficult, but I would have to say Deerhunter. What I love about their music is that I never have to be in the mood for it. It's neither depressing nor upbeat... it just morphs into whatever emotion I'm feeling and sits with me.

I go through spurts with music but I always go back to The Beatles. Otherwise, Id say the Kooks because I can never get enough!

Foo Fighters. Because of Dave Grohl. Nuff said.

RHCP. They've been making original, amazing music for decades.

These two bands will go down as two of the greatest, up there with the likes of the Stones, Zeppelin, etc.

The Who, I used to listen to other bands a great deal, but I have not gotten bored witht their music.

Recently The Black Keys just can't seem to do any wrong.

I have VERY diverse music tastes, but my favorite band will always be Hanson (yes, THAT Hanson). They were the first band I really fell in love with, and still love them today. In fact, their music just keeps getting better and better and their songwriting skills and harmonies are really amazing. I first loved them when I was in 5th grade and I'm 25 now, so I feel like I've grown up with their music. It's like an old friend.

This will be by far the least "cool" answer in this thread, but I couldn't care less: Huey Lewis and the News.... because I feel 17 years old whenever I hear one of their classic tunes. First saw them live in 1984... they were amazing. I've been a loyal fan ever since.

2nd would be the J. Geils Band for similar reasons.
