Ok... now - I seriously can't choose one band sorry. lol

Metallica - Rock can Rock HARD and I just love their sound always have, always will. However I have to agree Load was a just not right.

Faith No More - I dunno, bit wacky and hit the spot live.

The Mighty Mighty Bosstones - Saw them at Manchester Uni (england) and fell in love.

Danzig - Glenn Danzig can wrap me in those muscles anyday!

AC/DC - I have a leaning to Bon Scott days but do like some of the newer stuff.

    and finally

Kiss - well come on now you don't need to ask. They are truly Epic.

I have a few favorite bands. The Damned and Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds are at the top, but they are closely followed by Danko Jones, The Raveonettes, Stellastarr*, The Cramps and Tom Waits. (I'm not indecisive or anything..)

I am more of a Texas Country kind of girl. I love Max Stalling, Brandon Rhyder, Roger Creager, Reckless Kelley...a very talented lot. Their music is not your typical Nashville sound. It has a tendancy to combine country overtones with a rock-a-billy sound. They also have incredible lyrics to songs. :)

My two favorite bands would be:

Testament - I listened to them religiously when my dad passed away, they really helped me in a very dark time in my life.

    and...(for those who know me!)

My favorite band is Bush, has been since I was like 12. They were my first favorite band, and I just felt like the music spoke to me in a way. I remember being made fun of in 5th grade when I wore my Bush shirt.

    U2.

In my mind, this needs no explanation. They are simply the most amazing band. All of their songs are exactly as they should be. No crazy vocals from Bono, no unnecessarily long guitar solos from The Edge. Adam Clayton's bass riffs may be simple but they are perfect for each song, as is Larry Mullen, Jr.'s drumming. They've been going for over 30 years and they show no signs of stopping any time soon. Each album is better than the last, "No Line on the Horizon" was definitely well worth the wait! I could go on and on and on about why they are phenomenal...

    This.

Listen to "Moment of Surrender" from NLOTH - this brilliant song was written and recorded in the band's 35th year of existence. No other band has been as good and as meaningful and as important for as long as U2. No other band even comes close.
  • Fooo Fighters!!!
Dave GRHOL is the best frontman in the world!! Ive seen them 11 times and they are a mile ahead of any other band ive ever seen!!!! Slightly obsessed...... :)

    I have to name 5, I won't allow myself 1.

Opeth - They are the Led Zeppelin of metal. Each album is different, with more proggy influences coming out now which I love. They have around 10 albums out in their 16 year existence and they keep getting better. Beautiful singing when there is singing and devastating growling, of which there is lots. I don't like a lot of the growly thing in black metal but the music is too good and I just get used to it. http://www.opeth.com

Muse - The similar Jeff Buckley/vibrato singing drew me into Muses' first album. Their addictive riffs get my guitar playing fingers dancing (New Born, Knights Of Cydonia, Plug In Baby, Hysteria, etc....), they try new things and aren't afraid of going grandiose for a laugh. Unequalled live too. http://muse.mu

Karnivool - Perth band that are heavy but have a vocalist who keeps things very melodic. I can't say enough about these guys and I implore you to check them out if you are into any "heavy" music at all. http://karnivool.com.au/

Foo Fighters - I like rock music. These guys provide it in spades. Everlong is my all time favourite song (was my first waltz song at my wedding) and with every album they keep surprising me. Just when they seem like they are going soft, the record White Limo on their latest record which harkens back to Wattershed from their first release. A song like that on an album that the mainstream radio listeners are going to hear took some balls. Some of their singles misrepresent them I feel (Wheels is one of the worst songs, not just of theirs, but of anyone) so I can understand why some people think their songs are samey. They are a powerful live band and who can't love Dave Grohl? He's the coolest, nicest front man in rock. http://www.foofighters.com

Thrice - They started out a punk/rock band and have constantly improved to the point where they could release a polka album and I'd buy it. They can do ambient, acoustic, metal, blues, etc... and they still sound like Thrice. Fantastic live band, very powerful vocalist and the instrumentation is varied, technical and never over the top. Check out the songs Digital Sea, In Exile, Moving Mountains and Fire Breather. Just a taste of the varied styles they excel in. http://www.thrice.net

Green Day, because I fell in love with the song When I Come Around when I was 5 and have loved them ever since.
Avenged Sevenfold, my husband got me into them and I just <3 M. Shadows' voice (screaming and singing) and Synyster Gates is a god with the guitar. Seriously. My next tattoo will be "escape from this Afterlife..." on my rib cage.
