    Good evening!

I'm never growing up! No, it's not a Peter Pan moment, just a fact. I, too refuse to give in to growing older. We can NEVER stop trying to be the best we can be. Our lives depend on it!

Well, I'm back on 12 hour shifts for the rest of the week...oh joy!

I hope everyone is well. I'm still not exercising, but I plan to ease back into it this week.

    Gotta go back to work!

    Have a wonderful day!

sing, I hope that your evening went well. Sort of hard to work in execising when you work nights.

:flowerforyou: Wow stiring, you can do 300 push-ups ? That is terrific !!! I don't know why you are worrying about getting older. You look great !! I have had to change my facial care routine. Plus, we do have more wrinkles showing as we lose weight. Bummer.:grumble:

I am hopeing to get to my weight class tonight. I was 15 minutes late for it on Monday. So, there were the instuctor and her mother there and since it looked like no one else was going go show, they left.

I have fields to clear and too many apples and pears this year. Cant even get them to the food banks cause I just dont have the time. Miss you guys. Does anyone know how I can post pictures for you to see???? My field is filled with ghoast and goblins and Gear of war creatures( xbox video game) Yes I'm a gamer. LOL....

Just one note....well two...one on injuries......our injury set backs can and will be over come. We must focus on the fact that we are making ourselves better. A injury may be a time to work on the spirit, or emotions instead of physical training. Our thoughts control our actions. As far as hormones....male gyn use to say that menopause was in the mind....no physical reactions. Maybe there is some truth to it. (NOT)....What I'm saying is.....we need to keep in our mind that we are getting older, and we need to readdress our goal constantly to continue great rewards. Remember how happy we were as kids to be able to just play out side. Just keep it simple and set mini goals if the larger ones are just alittle out of reach. Oh also that great hormone we create while exercising helps with peri and menopause hot flashes.

Miss you....Embrace getting older.. Hugs to all

Not much time to be here today. Couldn't get on earlier. Supervisor changed the computer password on me.

:flowerforyou: LadyPersia, thank you for the inspiring words. We can't help but age but we can stay young in mind, spirit and body.

Blech, I've been sick for over a week now & haven't had the energy to exercise. I was hoping to keep my stamina up since I have a 5K coming up in a few weeks. Oh well, hopefully I'll get back on the horse in the next few days.

You're all doing so great! I feel like such a slug for not exercising.

Hope all is well with everyone. We've spent a few extra days working in Nevada these past two weeks. One of the houses is done and put-on the market. The other one, I'm hoping, won't take too long to get done. But of course we got two notices for tenants moving out on the 1st..... It just never ends. At least my husband is selling this house and hopefully the next. I don't want to add to the amount of rentals we have especially when they aren't even in my area.

My brother and his family are still living with us. We do all get along but it does put a strain on our budget and sometimes it's just nice to have the house quiet and be able to enjoy a book. That doesn't happen very often anymore. Yesterday I cleaned out my workout room to let the girls use it as a bedroom. They were all squished in one room and stepping on each other. So now I don't have access to my equipment. Not that I have used it much lately, gosh seems like the past year, because I am always on the go.

Alf... I know it's hard to believe but trust me, you are very thin. But I can understand the worry when you put-on a couple of pounds too. We work so hard to lose it and it's so easy to gain back. Extremely frustrating.

Stiring... Thanks for bringing up the topic of estrogen. It's had me thinking I should get mine tested along with my thyroid. There is absolutely no reason it should be so extremely hard for me to lose weight.

Sing... Take care of yourself working all those hours.

Tladame... Hope you feel better soon.

    Swiss... How's your daughters finger?

Sorry, I haven't been here much lately. Just too busy at work. I am sooo tired. We are getting another employee on Monday. I am so tired of doing the work of two people. I think I will just crash for the weekend.

tron, I see you asked about my daughter's finger. I am sure it is healed but she is still keeping it wrapped. She is sort of a whinny person. She just may play this one up for a few months.

Another week gone by!!! I am soooo tired!!  I went to a concert last night with my daughter and some friends (Enrique Iglesias, Pitbull and Prince Royce) and got home late. But it was great fun!!!!! It looked like half of San Antonio was there, the place was packed!!! So there are a lot of sleepy drivers out there, including myself, not good...:noway: As far as exercise is concerned, this week pretty good but a little different due to different schedule. Eating has been ok, could have been better, definitely feeling the cravings for comfort foods due to seasonal changes. Must fight it!!!

Tron, how many houses do you own? Good to hear from you.

tladame, good to hear from you again. I hope you feel better soon.

Good to see everyone else!!! Sorry, at work, not much time. Take care!!!!! :flowerforyou:

Wow! That's quite an undertaking! I really wish we had the extra money to buy another house as a rental/investment property. Prices are so low right now (I'm in northern CA).

I personally think we have too many. It's hard to keep up on all of them. Just making sure all the water bills are paid every month drives me crazy. Haha! But it is a great time to pick up a rental that's for sure....

I live in Northern California also. I live in Sonora, where a bouts are you?

Barbell Day: Squats, Seated Overhead Press, Deadlifts.

Squats felt good :) Increased sets and reps by one each, next time I will increase the weight.

Seated Overhead Press, upped the weight by one pound from last time, lol. Feeling right on the edge on the 5th rep of each set. Next time I will go for an extra rep at same weight, and or another set.

Deadlifts: managed 5 reps at 241 pounds this time :) That one was a rush and a half :D Just barely squeezed that last one out. Used double overhand grip for all reps. My left hand started slipping a bit on the last one, may need to change to a switch grip soon. Might try and up the weight again next time, maybe 246.5 pounds, or maybe I'll just go for another rep at the same weight. We'll see.

I took a vid of the Deadlifts, all comments on form and whatever are welcome: http://s237.photobucket.com/albums/ff62/Hewhois_photos/GetFit2/vid20111014deads/?action=view&current=MVI_2363.mp4

Off to the vet.... Oh lucky, lucky me! My dog ate a whole grape then other night and all day yesterday refused to eat, drink, move, had the runs but it barely came out, and threw up. So he either has it lodged in his intestines or just having a hard time passing it. Just what I need is a huge vet bill. But my dog is my baby and I'm not chancing anything. Wish me luck it's nothing too serious.

:flowerforyou: Julie, let us know how your dog is doing. I would think that a grape would deteriate quickly. Wow, I can't believe how many houses you own. I don't own a one.

Chris, I can't view your video while at work. They have a lot of things blocked. So, I will have to wait til I get home.

:flowerforyou: tladame, let us know how your run goes the end of this month.

Well, it is another work day. I guess that is better than not having a job and needing one. We are short an employee so that makes for a lot more work for me. We should be getting someone else this week.

Swiss... Owning that many is all it's cracked up to be. Maybe if they were all in my area and I didn't have to drive 3+ hours every time we have to work on them I might think differently.

I called the vet this morning, they said Moochie seems fine but they won't release him until he's able to eat and keep it down. Gosh I hope he does. I hate not having him home. I've had this dog every day sense his birth, heck I had him more than his own mother did.... Haha! When he was first born he would crawl up until he got on my shoulder snuggled my neck and layer there under my hair. Gosh he was so tiny and cute.....

Well on a positive note I weighed myself and have lost 2 pounds. I told my husband that and he just said... Psh! That's nothing.... Then doesn't understand why I think that's mean. Am I being too sensitive? Be brutally honest, I really need to know if it's just me or if my husband needs to learn to stop being a jerk.

I was pretty much zonked out yesterday. I think that I didn't eat enough Friday and Saturday. Couple that with an intense workout (intense for me anyway ) Friday night, my motorcycle ride Saturday and late bowling Saturday night...meant I napped the whole Sunday away, lol. So, I didn't get my workout in yesterday, did it today instead.

Barbell Day: Squats, Bench Press, Bent Over Rows. Workout felt good today. Progress on all 3 exercises, either more weight or extra sets/reps. Bench Press was a killer, lol. Don't think I could do a push up right now to save my life...

*tron: Hope your pet gets better quick! I know it's hard on you :(

Grats on the 2lbs! I averaged about 1lb per week when I lost my 40lbs. Can't (and shouldn't) lose it all at once, every pound closer to your goal is a good thing. They all add up in the end.

:flowerforyou: tron, I guess it depends on what stage in life your husband is in. Does he need to lose any weight? Does he treat you like this in other areas? Oh well, you have us to celebrate with you. YOU GO GIRL !!!

:flowerforyou: LadyPersia, I also do not now how to download pics and get them in the thread. So, just use your profile to show us.

Chris, you are doing fine. A little break will not hurt. Take care of yourself.

I have not been eating healthy or getting exercise but my weight is holding steady. I seem to be late for the past 4 weight classes. When this happens the instructor will leave because it would only be her and her mother. I need to get on the ball.

:flowerforyou: alf, you certainly do have a busy life at this time. Take care. And have lots of fun Zumbaing with your sister. (I know...that isn't a word. ).

My husband is getting some over-time this week. Not too bad when he works over an hour, but coming in at 5:30 can be rough. But, it will make for a better paycheck.

    Hi all,

I posted a big long post the other day and then *poof*, it disappeared, and I didn't have time to repost. :grumble:

Tron - hope your puppy gets better real quick and is back home with you. (())

Chirs - sounds to me like your body NEEDED that day of rest. You came back nice and strong afterward for it.

I have been pretty busy, but really focusing on my workouts and eating these past few days. Doing much better. I have actually been getting up at 6 a.m. and doing P90X workouts. My plyo dvd didn't work, so am not too sure what to do in its place.

:flowerforyou: @singfree, is there another dvd in the set that I can substitute the workout for? I probably couldn't do the jumping with my hip issue anyway, but I still wanted some sort of cardio, so I went for an hour walk which felt soooo good.

Am going to a yoga/pilates class tonight as well. My body needs the stretch.

I have company this week - and I've still managed to get up and workout, so that makes me happy. I just hope I can keep this going. I have to travel next week, so I am bringing my laptop so I can workout in my hotel room. I really don't want to miss if I don't have to.

The weather has certainly turned cool. Yesterday we had frost in the morning and it was 33F when I left for work at 8a.m. Bbbrr. Not realy for that. This morning it felt much warmer, and it was only 40. Funny how that happens.

Well, I had better get at it. Hope you are all having a great day.:flowerforyou:

:flowerforyou: sdereski, will you be staying in a hotel when you travel next week? A lot of them have workout rooms. Maybe not a lot of equipment, but maybe a stationary bike and treadmill. And, I have had my posts disappear so often.:grumble: I hit a wrong key and it is all gone. I usually just log off when that happens because I am so mad.

crewell, I will have to check out that website PedalMyBike.com. I take it that you use it? I have a speedometer on my bike that tells me my speed but to be able to track my miles would be nice.

Well, I need to shower and get to bed. 4:30 comes around quickly.

Barbell Day: Squats, Seated Overhead Press, Deadlifts. Very minor improvements on squats and press, managed to improve my personal record on deadlifts by 5.5lbs, now at 246.5 pounds for 5 reps.

My Body Weight is up to about 171 pounds now. Gained 4 pounds in a little over 4 weeks. Hoping at least some of it is muscle :D It's been hard for me to maintain the mental attitude needed to eat more and make sure my body has the fuel it needs to gain muscle mass. I slip from time to time, but for the most part I seem to be doing OK with it.

*silvana: not as intense as Plyo, but you can do Cardio X or Kenpo instead.

*crewellademel: Good to see you are still at it :)

    *alf: have fun!

*LP: Cool decorations! Do yo have a Photobucket account?

Chris, I want to thank you for posting. I love reading what you are doing weight wise. Wow, 246.5 pounds?? Way to go !!

Hey, why am I the only person here this morning? Well, if everyone is sleeping in then I really envy them.

Yay!!!! A 40+ blog. I'm 48 and have carried around too much weight for the last ten years. I've started running again and want to run every other day if possible. I am stuck in the 170s right now and have hovered there for weeks. I can now run 2 miles consistently and recently ran 2.5 miles twice, so I would like to continue to do that consistently before I make the jump to 3 miles. I'm running my first 5k in December.

I'm on the year long goal, I would like to be 135 by next October, I know weight loss is going to take awhile and it's a major lifestyle change. I accept it will not happen overnight and am okay with not losing weight every week, as long as I maintain.

I work part time, have two teens that are quite social, I'm on the run a lot and work from home sometimes!

Good luck to everyone, I still have 40 lbs to go!

Loving the cool Fall weather for sure!

    Welcome Kelly! :flowerforyou:

You sound like you have set some realistic goals for yourself. If you there is a day that you can't run, don't beat yourself up over it. There may be a day in there where your body just wants to rest. Congrats on the decision to make the lifestyle change.

There are some amazing people on this site with incredible stories and experience that have a wealth of information they are willing to share to help yu along the way.
Enjoy the journey and all the wonderful things it will bring.
