  • Ok, here goes:

I went to the ENT doctor today. I have been having issues for quite a while but have not done anything about it Next Tuesday, I am having my tonsils and adnoids taken out. Yes I know it sounds completely ridiculous since I will be 40 next month but it needs to be done. I have been told that the recovery time is a lot worse when you are older. I asked the doctor what he considered older and he said anything over 5-10.:grumble:

So I know that I will not be able to exercise for at least one whole week and possibly two. It really stinks because I feel like I have been putting in great effort for this challenge.I will be continuing the daily, weekly and bonus challenges right up until my surgery. After the first week, I have been told that I can walk as much as I want or can handle but that is about it.I told Sonia that I am willing to step down if that is what the teams wants because I do not want to keep you guys from scoring points.

I said in the beginning that this competition has nothing to do with winning this challenge. It has to do with our team putting their best efforts into it and winning our lives back. But I understand that it may mean different things to different people. So please let me know what you decide. And know that I will not be insulted either way.

I will continue to strive to make myself better whether I am an active participant or the best darn cheerleader this team has EVER seen:bigsmile:

    Becca
  • I think that I will be stepping down as well. I am in a neck brace and there isn't much I can do for points. I will be starting physical therapy as soon as the chiropractor makes sure i am "holding". It's a very complicated issue. I will be searching for a walking group, because that is all I will be able to do. Any takers?
I will continue to watch you all and spy on you!!
  • Maybe my last message was confusing!! I absolutely WANT to stay on this team if you guys will have me:flowerforyou:

I think you should both stay on the team. :)

I have a questions about the toe touches....is it 25 each side?

Oh and a NSV....the squat kicks were so much easier this week than they were on Day 1. I found I can get deeper into the squat.

Now burpees (modified)...blech! It is hard work to get this body veritcal from a horizontal position, even starting on all fours....LMAO!!!!! oh and the globe jumps, the backwards jump about kicked my butt! I had to stop laughing so I could finish, thank goodness there were only 10 of them :) I know it says each jump counts as one, I hope I understood that right and not each rotation counts as one. :)

  • Ingrid,

Great job getting the daily challenges done. Just about everything kicked my butt but I was thrilled when I realized I got it all done. I did toe touches 25 on each side because I wasnt sure either...???

    Becca

off to do 25 more toe touches...LOL and 8 miles on the bike, I don't feel like walking tonight.

oh..oh..oh....I forgot! I did 50 crunches too! I may not get to 500 this week but I'm going to do as many as I can anyway
  • I did 50 crunches too. I am bound and determined to get the 500 done. I remember when some of the ladies from the August challenge volunteered to do 1000 extra crunches for the week for their team. Those are true wonder women!!
  • Well, I hope Becca and Becky don't leave the team. We're a tribe, darn it! :grumble: :frown:

Sonia, did I miss the post for the extra points this week? I can't seem to find what we are doing for that. :ohwell:

I haven't seen what we are doing Extra as of yet...

Stupid computer is freezing up like crazy!!! Flipping back and forth, driving me nuts!!!

All I heard all day long was ... Bump, ba da dump dump.... and I kept waiting for the bomp bomp... Shave and a Hair cut... two bits.... I am a LITTLE bit.... particular... about certain things... one of them is, sounds that have a pattern need to finish the pattern or it drives me up a wall... arghhhH!!!!!

I hope we keep our tribe together!

Gotta go, I am sleepy and cranky and tired and pissy and nappy and *****y,,, and and and and ... and the seasonal allergies are tearing me up!

    night fellow tribeswomen!!!

  • For the weekly challenge:

I believe I saw something from Gary's posts that said 100 high planks to low planks. Not sure how you do it. I'll have to look at the blog spot. I may not get this done this week. I have decided that burpees are NOT my friend:noway:

I did check this out and know that it is not something I will be able to do. I sprained and fractured a bone in my wrist over a year ago and find that I still have weakness in that wrist. As I lose weight the extra weight on my wrist isn't as bad but not comforatble putting that much pressure on it until I lose another 20lbs at least :)
  • Dont worry, Ingrid. Its for extra points. I dont want you to cause more injury to yourself. You are already doing a great job with the other daily challenges and logging your foods and such. This is no biggie!!

    Good morning Tribeswomen of WannaWeigh'Wa!!!!:glasses:

I am NOT seeing much activity on here... what is up with that????

For me ~ My life has turned into hectic city!!! I feel overwhelmed and under-prepared.... :frown:

Today I am taking a moment to recenter, focus, and get my head out of my hiney!

Yes, there are things that are priorities that MUST get done... but I AM one of those priorities!!!

School is a priority so that I can get a job that pays better than minimum wage...

Work is a priority because even at its low pay, it does help...

The house and dog care are a priority .... because the pigpen look drives me nuts, and puppies have such pretty eyes!

The kids and their multiple activities/etc are a priority.... well.... because they are!

DH is a priority because hopefully we'll be spending the next 40 or 50 years together...:grumble:

And I am THE priority because if I don't take care of me.... none of the rest get taken care of properly!!!

I have GOT to learn and implement the practical side of prioritizing in a much more productive way...

I miss seeing posts on here from my tribeswomen.... for me, more than half the enjoyment of being a tribeswomen is the camaraderie....

Just posting your info on Google docs is fine... I understand the time constraints, BELIEVE me I do!!! but we are together in this...

I need this support... Don't you?

Is a post a day too much to ask? (not rhetorical, I actually want to know)

  • Sonia,

I hope you realize just how important your leadership is to us!! You are doing a fantastic job!!

I do try to post something on here but dont always manage to do it daily! Sometimes I will do it on my page and hope everyone sees it. I will try harder:smile:

    SOOOOOO.......

How about those crunches?!?! For those of you who were on this team in August, I want you to know how inspiring it was to see you guys offering to do 500,1000 or more crunches for a weekly challenge for your team. That instantly sets my wheels in motion. I think "I could do that!" So although our challenge is to do 500 crunches this week I am going to see just how many I can do...maybe it will still only be 500 but Im hoping for 1000+.

Anyone interested in taking this challenge with me???

I too will try to do better about posting here. I get so wrapped up in posting on everyones status' that I forget to jump in here. :blushing: I'll take on the challenge Becca and do my best!

I'm struggling today to figure out what is going on with my body. I'll start out by saying that I know muscle weighs more than fat but it is very unlikely that I put on 2.5lbs of muscle in 2 days. I'm due for my period next week so that is probably part of the problem as well as not having as frequent "movements". I'm drinking lots of water (112oz yesterday) hoping my body will finally let go. I'm really trying to not focus on the scale so much. My clothes fit completely different, I feel stronger and have a lot more energy than I used to. Maybe I should just keep trying to focus on that and keep getting my workouts in. Something is bound to happen eventually, right? LOL
  • I hope this looks right, I'm doing this over my phone. Sorry!!! I didnt know we were suppose to write posts on here everyday... In that case HERE I AM!!!! On the challenge of doing 1000 crunches count me in!! And hopefully I get names right... Becky and Becca I don't want either of you to leave either!! We can use all the support and motivation!!!

    Go tribe WannaWeigh'Wa!!!!!

    Laura
  • Laura, Good luck with the crunches today:bigsmile:

Ingrid, I do not normally advertise foods but here is what you are looking for~ All-Bran bran buds. You find them in the cereal aisle at the grocery store. They give you 51% of your daily allowance of fiber in a 1/3 cup. I began eating them in the morning with a container of Yoplait lite yogurt. It is almost as good as a fruit and yogurt parfait(ALMOST) Try that for a few days in a row and let me know how it works. It has done wonders for me:blushing:

I just wanna say I am sooo proud of this team and all that we are doing to get our lives back! Every little step gets us that much closer!! We are ROCK STARS this month! Keep up the AWESOME work you're doing!

    Becca:wink:
  • :flowerforyou: Tribe! Hau Hau!

How is everyone doing this week with the challenges? I'm trying to keep on track, it seems like there aren't enough hours in a day! :grumble:

Ingrid, have you tried peppermint tea? It does wonders to get things moving. Try some! :drinker:

Becca, you are a ROCKSTAR for volunteering to do 1000 crunches. Woohoo!

Sonia, as always, you are the best leader on MFP...your posts always leave me smiling! (except when you give me the stern face, and then it scares me a bit :frown:  )

My internet is sucking majorly the past few weeks, I can barely maintain any kind of connection. It's so frustrating!! :grumble:

Hope everyone is having a great Wednesday, or you know, as great as a Wednesday can be. Not like it's Saturday or something. :frown:

I'm going to have to do one heck of a burn tonight. I at 2, yes 2, chocolate frosted donuts this morning. That got things moving this afternoon, FINALLY!!!. I will definitely try your suggestions, thanks for them.:drinker:

I'm sorry to vent this out in our forum but I'm stressed.:frown: My boyfriend is in Maine for training and will be back tomorrow. I got a phone call from my daughter at 3:50pm that our 10 month old lab mix bit her. :noway: I rush home to find that he got her good, one of his bottom teeth punctured her arm. She had a tetanus booster last year so she should be good but I'll call her doctor tomorrow. We just got him 3 months ago and the girl said that all he needed was his Rabies shot. Stupid me has put it off, I thought they did Rabies at a year but apparently it is now as young as 4 months. Now I'm in a panic because if her dad finds out he'll want me to put the dog down. I have a call into the vet that I used to use years ago to discuss the behavior.

My boyfriend just started working again last week (was home since we got the dog), so the dog is in the crate from 8am-2:30pm. Until I can talk to the vet, I have to make sure I don't leave the kids alone with the dog unless he is in the crate. I suspect him being in the crate has something to do with this behavior. He is only 10 months old, still a baby really. My daughter (12 1/2) and son (almost 14) let him out of the crate wen they come home from school. Over the last few days the dog has gotten possesive over his stuff so I told the kids to leave him alone until he comes to them to let him outside to do his business. He even growled at my boyfriend last night when my boyfriend told him to move out of a spot on the sofa where he had been sitting. Today, the dog was on the sofa looking out the window when my daughter touched his head. He turned and started growling, she told him to stop and grabbed his collar. She said he growled meaner and then bit at her. I've told her numerous times that if the dog is growling or being possesive, leave him be. I don't know why she thought grabbing his collar was a good idea. My boyfriend seems to think that he may have been alert to something outside and she just chose to interact with him at the wrong time.

At this point I dont' know what to think. I do know that I don't have the urge to feed the emotion and heading off now for my date with Leslie Sansone for a killer calorie burn.

    TTFN!!! WoohohoHoo! :flowerforyou:
  • I am sorry to hear that your puppy bit your daughter. That is hard to deal with all the way around. Our puppy is also 10 months old. She doesnt have any aggressive behavior but she did regress back to accidents in the house when my daughter left for college. Not sure if that is going to be your puppy's way of dealing with change. I hope not. I understand that an ex can be a pain in the *kitten*.

Good for you for turning to exercise to release stress instead of food. That is a major turning point in your weightloss journey:wink: I also turn to Leslie Sansone when I really want to kick my own butt.

So far I have done 150 crunches tonight along with my other exercises. I am planning on doing some more once my evening chores are done.
