NEW GROUP TOPIC THREAD!
Hi Ladies!
I decided to create a new "Hot Moms" group thread that will include all moms in all groups. I'll start posting weekly charts there instead of posting them in each individual group thread. Hope you'll join us!

121 this morninng!0

119 lbs this morning.
However, I think it's due to the fact that I've been sick and nothing tastes good. I've been good about keeping my calories around 1200 but I haven't worked out in 3 days and I don't feel "healthy."0 -
I don't know whether to be happy or sad :ohwell: Well, congrats on the loss but get well soon! I need to kick my tail into overdrive I have been seriously slacking. I feel like lard. Starting today I am in full out weight loss mode! I need to get to 119 before my birthday!0

Sept 26 - 120 lbs
Joi -- I really haven't paid attention to my breathing while I run. What's the correct way? In through nose and out through mouth?
I had my annual physical on Saturday and my dr. asked if I was a runner. He said my heartbeat was slow, which indicated I exercise or run a lot.
so... you must be a runner
You might be suprised at what you can do... I never thought I'd be able to run as far as I am running now. We were up at our cabin with my parents over the weekend and when I headed out to run my dad asked me how far I was planning to go. I answered him so casually he didn't process it until I was gone. When I got back he asked, "how far did you go? I thought you said you were going to go 6 miles, but that's really far". He couldn't believe that I would think 6 miles was no big deal... and it's weird to think that it really isn't anymore...
Of course, I'm running 6 miles, but not losing any weight.... so you might not want to follow my lead :ohwell:
This might sound kind of weird, but have you tried singing while you are running? I thought it was weird when I heard it, but it works. I think that it has something to do with completely emptying your lungs so you can get bigger breaths, but if I find that I'm having trouble breathing, I sing along to the song on my ipod (I whisper sing.. I don't actually belt out the tune, which is good for anyone around me because I have a TERRIBLE voice. I am completly tone deaf) and I can suddenly breathe again...
Once I get through the 1/2 marathon I am signed up to do in October (the 15th) I will start mixing it up in terms of workout choices. My issue for the past few weeks has been eating. I have been eating out at fancy restaurants and not counting calories at all on the weekends. I'm actually glad I've been doing so much running. Conveniently, it burns A LOT of calories.
Unfortunately, I haven't gotten very far with the shred... the first week I started it I aggrevated an old neck injury and I was in quite a bit of pain for more than 3 weeks. Since then, I've been nervous to try it again as I can't afford to have to take time off from running with only 3 weeks until the big day, I still have a long way to go to feel comfortable running 13 miles. I was going to start it again a few weeks ago but slept funny and my neck was bothering me again and I didn't want to mess it up completly again. When it goes out, I can barely move, can't lift my arms, and taking care of my children is extremely challenging, not to mention that I'm in constant pain, so I'm not eager to work myself into that state... anyway, I think I'm going to try starting it again this week. Tomorrow is the plan... I'll let you know.
How did it go for you? Did you finish all 30 days?
I finished the shred. Not much weight loss though  I can't lose the last couple of pounds. I just said starting today I am kicking my butt into overdrive!!! Maybe you should do Jillian's BFBM it's not as intense as shred but it is a better workout!0 -

As of now, my son's not sick. I quarantined myself all weekend and let my husband take care of the boy. He got a flu shot today. I'm praying that he didn't catch anything from me since It take the vaccine up to 2 weeks to integrate into the system.0 -
Joi. How are your measurements? I bet you're losing inches. And your clothes are loose. You've been working out like crazy.0

I check my measurements once a month. I will know next Monday. Hopefully, I have made some sort of progress. I have also taken some other foods out of my diet like, baked chips and cheese. Just for a week to see if that is the problem. Congrats again!0 -
New chart posted in the main thread. Go check it out!

Hi group 9! I hope everyone is doing well.
Are you feeling better?
Yes, I am finally over my flu. I haven't worked out for almost 2 weeks. I think I'm ready to ease back into exercising tomorrow.
I've been eating crap and not logging my food. My mother in law is visiting and we've been out to eat a lot. I need to buckle down and get back to business.0 -
I know how you feel... that is where I was a few weeks ago... I hadn't been sick, but had hurt my ankle so wasn't working out and then got on the eating out/eating crap rotation and it was hard to break. Luckily, I forgot to weigh myself this morning... I almost broke down and stopped for pizza for dinner for me and the girls on my way home from work tonight. I was later than I wanted to be and super tired already and was so not in the mood to make dinner. With my husband gone pizza seemed like such an easy solution... but then since I knew I needed to weigh myself in the morning didn't want to go over with sodium... that and I only had 450 calories left for the day since I am recovering from my 12 mile run yesterday and didn't work out today... I would definitely have over-eaten had I stopped for the pizza.0

Well done on resisting the pizza.
I'm really motivated to get back on track. If this was me last year, I would have given up, feeling defeated and chubby. I love MFP and all the wonderful friends I have who offer much needed encouragement
Btw, today is my son's 2nd birthday. I can't believe my baby is growing up so quickly.0 -

Happy Birthday to your little one! Time for the terrible twos. Leigh- this is a new week, let's set a goal to keep us on tracks? I'm going with: I will not eat any unhealthy take out food this week.0 -

What about healthy takeout? Is there such a thing? Yes, I like your goals. Will be tough for me this week because I have a networking event and a going away party and both involve unhealthy food. Both will be at dinner time so I will need to eat... my goal is to get up and run on both Wednesday and Thursday morning so that I offset the evenings food choices... Also, will make the healthiest choices available... but since I am not choosing the menu, I have a feeling that healthy options will be at a minimum. Finally, no snacking after dinner. This has also been a weakness on the days that I am not working out. I hit my calorie goal and then still feel hungry in the evening... I don't really eat unhealthy things... I try not to keep them in the house, but even healthy options can be bad if I am overeating....0 -

Happy Birthday to your little guy!!! It is amazing how quickly the time goes....0 -

I'm a shortie at 5'2"
I think I can follow the goal to not eating unhealthy take out this week. However, that will have to start tomorrow. I have leftover pizza and leftover chinese food in my fridge. It's amazing how having a houseguest can disrupt your normal eating habits. My mother in law will be leaving tomorrow so I'll go back to normal.0 -

Actually, I think Swimmom has me beat. She's lost over 50 lbs! Incredible!!!0 -
Where I live they is a health food store that prepares fresh organic and nutritious meals. They are really good too! I haven't eaten any takeout since I think Saturday. I hope I make it til Saturday with this goal. I also made a goal to watch my sweet intake. Even though I stay in my calories, I always go over in my sugar. I am 5'1. I asked because of our weight loss goals in comparison to height. Does anyone have some advice on belly buster techniques? I can't get rid if my belly but I have lost inches around my waist. I went from 32 to a 27! That's a size 5! I don't want to lose weight any place else besides my tummy. I hate the way my belly hangs over my pants. I find myself sucking in the gut all the time.0

I'm 5'3 and have the same issue you do in terms of belly fat... which I gained in pregnancy and am having a heck of a time getting rid of... like you, I have lost inches and am now comfortably in a size 6 so have at least gotten that far, but can't wait to get rid of the rest of this "padding". I'm not sure that there is anything specific we can do to get rid of it other than burn the calories off. I once read that you lose fat in the same order you gain it... so if your tummy was the first place to get it, it will be the last to come off... which seems to be holding true for me.0
