Skimming through really quick to get caught up. I am telling you that this week has already kicked my butt. Monday night I started teaching my college class at night and I was exhausted when I finally got home at 10:30 pm. I walked my butt off that night and could feel the burn!

I had a ton of calories left over at the end of the day after I logged my burn but I was too tired to eat any more than I had. LOL!

Now today I already realize that I am going to have to figure out a boost in my protein on low funds as we are still struggling with hubby not working. We are getting there but it's still a day by day thing.

I also had to go shopping this weekend as I had quite a few Real Woman dollars. I made sure to buy some new pretty panties and I am glad that I got the 18/20 because not only are they looking good but they are fitting for a change instead of my older ones that continue to fall down.

Now to work on the rest of my clothes falling down as well!

Erin--I'm a newbie over here too! Seems like a great bunch of gals who are very busy, active and encouraging.

My BFF and I have 2 Biggest losers to catch up on tonight. We are going to do D1L! of JM 30DS before we watch. I have no idea what to expect, but it seems to be all the rage at MFP. I need a home fitness plan to compliment my gym routine/cardio.

Tasha, HOLY CRAP you have done a lot of really cool/really active stuff. I'm impressed by you.

Jessi, how's the photog website coming? You better give us a link once you've got that going!

Hosanna, I hope you get some much needed rest soon. I hate being tired/worn out. I agree with you on not wanting to spend too much time at home without the man there - I usually do that too. Its odd, but I spend so little time at home without Chris that a lot of times I feel out of place when he's not there.

Pam, I think having a schedule that I adhere to for workouts has really really helped me. I would probably slack off WAY more if I didn't have a calender with a workout that I got to cross off. Sometimes I don't follow it exactly, but its nice to know its there, pushing me to keep working.

Crystal, I am super sorry for you that the Vikings are having such a miserable start to the season. If only they could keep it together for the second half! And I completely get you being more excited about C25K with a phone app in hand... I didn't actually do that program because I didn't want to have to keep track of my running/walking intervals. I am, at my core, a very lazy person. I have to find efficient ways to get everything done. And WAY TO GO on getting a jump start on quitting smoking. I have never been a smoker, so I can't offer advice or anything... but I CAN say as a non-smoker, it makes me happy to know there will be one less smoker out in the world. I truly loathe it. Its smelly.

Kiki, YAY FOR SIZE 14! How great of a feeling is that?!?! And it IS completely true that the larger sizes take longer to come off. I was a size 18 at 240 pounds, and I didn't get into a size 12 until about 180 pounds or so.... maybe even less. I was in a size 10 by 170.

Annette, that is awesome that the hubby is being so supportive of your active lifestyle. I love when that happens... plus you're rubbing off on him!

Victoria, hellz yeah woman! :drinker: Look at you and your killer mega awesome calorie burn. Love love love it. That's the Victoria who I know and love, who inspired me to be a runner!

Rain, I also cannot stand stationary bikes at the gym. They have always KILLED my legs and I'm just not a fan. Biking outside? Now that's something I do love. And like I told Pam with the running... just keep telling yourself to put one foot in front of the other and don't stop. You'll be cruisin' long distances in no time. Trust me. In the beginning of July, a 2 mile run basically killed me.

Rikki, just thinking about you and the hubbs and praying that he gets to stay home, or that if he has to go, that he stays safe. Big thanks to you and your family for all the sacrifices you make in the name of our safety and freedom.

Kendal, omg a Tough Mudder is 10 miles. That sounds terrifying and fantastic. I MUST research this. And I think badge-wise, a % loss and # lost winner badge for each challenge is awesome, plus race lengths would be great. I think the goal-thing sounds cool, but also like a total pain to try and keep track of! I also freaking love cheetos. They are so cheezy and delicious and wonderful. But who I am kidding? I love all things cheese-related. Last weekend I went out to dinner at an amazing chop house and they had mac n cheese with brie, bacon, and spinach. I might still have dreams about its deliciousness.

Bobbie, the room does sound awesome. Hope the headache has cleared up, silly woman sleepin' in the paint fumes! Yeesh!

    Hi Erin! Welcome!

My computer systems at work are slowly yet surely getting upgraded, which is awesome, but completely obnoxious right right now because I have 2 separate systems that I'm trying to work with, and I can do some things in one, but not the other, and vice versa. Its like being on a scavenger hunt to figure out where to find things. I'm annoyed by it.

I've decided that I need to invest in a pull up bar, because I really really want to know if I can do a pull up. I think I just might be able to. That would be incredible. And something I've never been able to do. I did back/biceps/abs this morning, and I was feeling super strong and awesome. Who knows.

I am (timidly, terrifying, nervously) consdering running the Chicago Marathon next October. I've always been a "go big or go home" kind of girl, so this somewhat makes sense for me. And its over a year away, so there would be plenty of time to train. And Chicago is my FAVORITE. But that's a lot of miles. And what if I get injured? Or fail? Or poop my pants mid run? (lol... yeah this happens to people!)

Anyway... that's all for me for now.

So, I had a first tonight... I got hollered at while running -- and not in a nice way. "Run, Forrest, Run!! Move that *kitten*!"

I wanted to run that truck down and poke that guy in the eye. "Hey jacka$$! How fast would YOU be going after 5 miles?!"

    Some people! I tell ya!

Man....lots to catch up on!!! Just got back in town from work. Ate and drank way too much, per usual.

Got back on the wagon today. I tried zumba for the first time tonight.....lemme just say, I don't have rhythm. And I couldn't find zumba in the exercise search so I just logged walking. I though that was weird.

Kiki - P90X is easily modified to any level. They generally show easy, mod, and hard versions. The key is not trying to do too much too quick... The cardio is not low impact which can be difficult on sore joints. What I really like is the weight lifting - I tend to skip it for cardio when not doing P90X.

Megan - I log Zumba as low impact aerobics. If you did tons of the jumps, you could try reg aerobics.

As for me - Ching, Ching, Ching... There goes $40 and 3 hours driving to see relatives at the casino. But I had fun. Food choices - not good... But, I logged them. Time for sleep...

Kerry - It's coming, but slowly. I've got some picture up on flickr right now (www.flickr.com/jessica-elaine) but that's about it. I want to buy a domain name, so I have to really commit to something before I'll spend the money. :) I'll be uploading some of tonight's pictures on there in a bit; I'm pretty happy with how some of them turned out. Totally think you can do the Chicago Marathon next year!! <3

Sarah - Eff 'em. Stupid people.

Check-in for Wed 2571 burned, ?? Accuracy but 1736 eaten (I had to guess at my 1/2 hamburg, share of nacho appitizer, and portion of fries)... I ate only 585 before going since I knew choices would be bad... Would it be rude to take my food scale into a resteraunt? Just kidding... Not sure I'll like my weigh-in tomorrow. My body feels like it was run over by a Mac truck (thank you Tony Horton!!!) so I'm sure some is water weight plus yesterday's good tasting bad for me food... I'll be pounding the water today (have to see if i can match Kerry's 18 glasses-since it worked so well for her....) Ex yesterday was sh/arms video. I was proud to use 7 pound weights for everything but tricep ex which could only lift 4 pounds (that's probably why I struggle with push ups)...

My one and only client today cancelled!!! YEAH!!! unfortunately, I have tons of computer and paperwork to do...I'll try to catch ip later... Only 1 more day until the weekend!!!

Kendal - I think you should keep the badges simple - otherwise, you'll go crazy customizing them. What about being awarded one only if you complete the full 6 challenge and lose weight? I wouldn't include the % lost since well each lose a different amount.

Hey gals! I had myself in an interesting predicament last night. I went to the gym, did my run, burned 391 cals and that put me at 1600 available calories. I didn't know what to do. I thought, if I kept working out I'd have too large a deficit. So I just did my run, went home and had a snack and went to bed.

I bought some Clif Bars yesterday and had a Maple Nut for breakfast. Pretty good, and it was actually tough to finish the whole thing.

    Well....gotta get some work done!

Rain - that's when a smoothie (strawberry, banana, milk) or milk with whey protien comes in handy.

I've got dinner in the crockpots (navy bean/tomato soup and sweet n spicy pork) and 4 meals (4 soups & 4 main dishes) planned for the weekend/next week. I'm grocery shopping tommorrow. I'm so looking forward to the weekend. Everything fits into my low cholesterol diet:)

Hey all! Sorry I have been MIA for the past couple of days lol! Unfortunately I have not run a single mile in that time and I'm seriously getting behind! :frown: I'm kinda wondering if I am going to be able to make it to 75 miles. I'm sure I can, it is just going to take a lot of work on my part. I HAVE been eating healthy though! The cafeteria food for the past week has been including so much fried things its ridiculous. A couple of days ago I had to make a sandwich because literally EVERYTHING was unhealthy:grumble: No fresh fruit, the salad bar didn't have any salad that was actually green, and the menu included pizza, chicken fried steak, tater tots, general tso's chicken and a bunch of other random gross stuff lol. So sad. Hopefully there will be better choices today! :)

    Alright... back at work today!

Yesterday I took a "sick day" and ended up having the busiest work day I've had in months. So much for that. Feeling much better though. Throat is still a smidge sore and there's a snottal presence, but overall better.

Is it the weekend yet? Today I have to drive to Timbuktu (well, 48 miles away) to deliver a training session. Blarg.

I'm doing that thing again where I'm weighing myself daily and wanting to shoot the scale. Last week I ate under calories every day (even on the weekend!) and exercised every day and gained 2 pounds, (which I can only assume is from eating poorly the week before). This week I've also been eating under calories and exercising, and still the scale hasn't budged. It's not TOM and I'm drinking water, so WTH? I know, I know, stop weighing myself every day. I meant to eat extra calories yesterday to try the zig zag thing, but after I ran I still wound up with only 1450 or so net calories (over 1800 total). Urg.

    Anyway, enough of my whining!

Nava, I hope you're feeling better. Especially if you have to drive forever to do a training session!

Kendal, yay for a sweet bf! I agree about keeping the badges simple so it doesn't drive you crazy.

Sarah (WnT), what the...?? Stupid jerk! I bet he hasn't even come close to being able to run what you can!

Kerry, I am sure you can do a pull up. You're seriously hardcore! That's another reason that you can totally do the Chicago marathon next year too. Also, I'm sure you won't poop your pants.

Kiki, I'm right there with ya about the pumpkin stuff. DELICIOUS!! I always make pumpkin chocolate chip cookies around the holidays, and I'm looking to see if there's a modification I can make in the recipe to make them a little healthier.

Crystal, way to go on quitting smoking!!

Bobbie, I'm trying hard to obey your command! So far the scale isn't giving in to my effort, but here's hoping.

Jessi, yay, the county I used to live in near DC had over a million people in it, and that was just one of the many counties in the surburbs! Way way WAY too many people, if you ask me. A place with 1 million people in the whole state sounds nice to me. :) I just had to go look up the population of the state of West Virginia and apparentely in 2009 the population was about 1,820,000...much nicer that the DC area, but still not as good as your Montana.

OH, I almost forgot! I bumped it up to 35 minutes of running last night, woohoo!! Do you all ever get that feeling of "I can't really be doing this" when you workout sometimes? Like with my running, I actually think "Well, but I'm going so slow...maybe I'm not REALLY running for 35 minutes..." I've even asked my bf "Hey, does it look like I'm running, or more like just walking fast?" (He said yes, it looks like I'm running) I know, so dumb, right? I still can't believe that my body is doing the things it's doing!

Okay - no time to read but super excited (and very scared - think I have finally lost all degrees of sanity) and needed to share.

Following suggestion from my (jogging partner) friend last night and without giving it too much (or should that be any) real thought, applied for and got into London Moonwalk - May 2012. Thousands of people take part, it is overnight and it is the London Marathon track - not part of it - all of it - 26.2 miles.

Without all the motivation and support I gain from the ladies on this thread, I would not have believed that I would a) be able to do it b) have had the confidence to apply for it or c) know that you lot will be there, cheering me on and offering support/advice when I stray from training or lose belief that it is achievable.

YUP - scary and excited. THAAAAAANK YOU xx

ps will attempt to catch up on reading replies soon. Love to all x

Megan - I think maybe dance or aerobics would work for Zumba :)

Victoria - Thank you :) I'll definitely have to give it a try! I used to hate weight lifting because it seemed so boring, but I've found if I do it along with a video (I'm using Jillian Michael's No More Trouble Zones right now) it's a lot of fun!

navajoon - isn't that how it always goes? Whenever I stay home to rest I end up cleaning the house, catching up on paperwork, or whatever needs doing instead of actually *resting* :)

    Pam - http://afoodiestaysfit.com/2010/10/healthified-pumpkin-chocolate-chip-cookies/
I remembered subbing apple sauce in pumpkin muffins before, it looks like you can do it with cookies too :) Last year I did some muffins using a can of pumpkin along with a box of spice cake mix, heh, I based that on this recipe http://www.hungry-girl.com/newsletters/raw/367 With the spice cake instead of devil's food it did taste just like pumpkin spice muffins.

Kiki, thank you thank you THANK YOU!! Those look just like the cookies I make, and I think it's a nearly identical recipe. The big difference (HUGE difference) is that the recipe you posted calls for applesauce whereas the recipe I've been making uses Crisco (yuck). I can't wait to try these!

Annette, here's to your May marathon! :drinker: Nice!

Pam - Trade me!!! :D I can totally understand the "running v. walking fast" thing, too - yay for running. :) I want to run, but outside isn't an option between allergies/clumsiness. Really debating between buying a treadmill and just joining the gym. I just hate paying $40/month when all I'm using is a treadmill!

It was in the 30's when I got up this morning. It's supposed to be 90 this weekend. WTH?! Apparently I'm also working Saturday, so that sucks. Nerd has a few days off, though, so at least we'll get out and take a walk and whatnot once it cools down a bit in the evening.
