Hey ladies, I'm resting from C25K today, but I will be going to the gym to do some strength training, and then the steam room. I think I'll tackle W2D1 tomorrow. Wednesday will be my do-absolutely-nothing-day!

Good luck on your run today Tonya (saw your post on your page)!!

    a. W2D1 completed today 9/19/11
    b. It was quite challenging. I ran about a 4 and walked about a 3.5
    c. Looking forward to the rest of the week.

What a suprise! I was alternating 2 minute of jogging and 90 seconds of walking. I honestly thought that it was supposed to be that way, I guess we can confince our brains whatever we set to it.

Felicia I want to thank you again and again for starting and coordinating this group, as I was pushing myself towards the end I was picturing all of us at the end of the 9 week or however, long it is going to take us and looking back this day!!

I feel like I belong to this group and I know we will have good days and bad days but as long as we continue to challenge ourselves we will get there.
Thank you all for being part of my healthier journey.

Wow. I'm not sure whether to be impressed or think you are crazy. :) I did day 1 of Ripped in 30 a few weeks ago and couldn't walk for days (and felt nauseous for hours!). Good luck to both of you! I've certainly read a lot of good stories about 30ds.

Thank you guys for keeping this going, I second, and third all that's been said here!! I may not be running along side of you in person, but definitely in spirit. I keep all of you in mind when I'm out there, and it has been a huge help. I'm a little apprehensive about tomorrow's run, but motivated to see it through.

Terri, glad you got through your week, and it sounds like you'll have your hands full. Have fun!!

Yasmin, WTG!!! I think it's great that you did 2 minutes! What a great feeling!!!

Has anyone read "Chi Running: A Revolutionary Approach to Effortless, Injury-Free Running" by Danny Dreyer? I'll probably pick it up used, but was curious if anyone had heard any first hand stories about it. It had a lot of good reviews on Amazon.

    a. W2D1 - Done (Monday) 3.5MPH Walking, 4.6MPH Running, Treadmill
    b. Harder, but manageable. Felt really good walking out of gym. The C25K program seems to be a good fit.
    c. Thinking about adding 5-10 minutes of additional warmup/light cardio beforehand.

    Good luck this week everyone!

I haven't, but to have an effortless run would be awesome. Once you get the book, please let us know about it!

Nicely done Dave!! Yeah, the best part of my workout is when it's over!!! I think adding some cardio is a good idea. I tend to walk a few minutes before I start the actual warmup walk.

My black beans and rice enchilada was a little higher in the calories then what I thought it would be, but I ran today so Yeah I got to eat the whole thing!!!

    w2d1 done!
The run wasn't that bad and my daughter's music selection was good. (Thank Goodness)
I walk at 3 and run at 5. I wanna increase the speed, but am afraid I wont be able to finish it.
One last thing before I call it a night. I really wanted to quit on the last running segment cause I was getting really tired, but I felt like I was running right along side all of you. Thanks for the continued support.

    b. It was tiring but I got through it. The first song on the podcast was funny, I was trying not to laugh when I first recognised it.

Like others have said, the reason I pushed myself and continued is because of this group motivating me to complete it!

I really love the British accent (and music). Makes me long for another visit to your wonderful country. Had a great honeymoon there some 11 years ago. Not a spot of rain in two weeks (April/May)! Thanks for sharing.

No rain for two weeks! That's something like a record for Britain.

Where in Britain did you go to?

Where in Britain did you go to?

We spent 4 days in London, then two at Thornbury Castle (fabulous), then two more in Upper Slaughter/Cotswold at some pretentious place. We saw Bath, Tinturn Abbey, some castle in Cardiff, Cheddar Gorge (seemed like a good idea at the time), Windsor, and most of the popular London sights (excepting when we fell asleep on the tour bus ride on day one).

I also spent a week in Tewkesbury for work 4 years ago just a few weeks before the historic flooding. Nice place.

Met a nice couple from Cheltenham last year while hiking the Great Wall of China. Small world sometimes.

Thanks, I'll check it out. I love the accent too, although we are the ones with the accent, right? I love the "culture!!" This weekend, the hub and I are making an English breakfast (minus the blood pudding), although we don't have any of the authentic stuff in Cali. And I've decided to record my weigh loss in stone, it just seems that I have less to lose  . I have 4 stone (56lbs) to lose, right??

Blood pudding, yuck! My favourite is afternoon tea: scones with cream and jam and a cup of tea.

Hahaaa! I was messing up with my profile this morning and changed to Kg. I went to the gym this morning, met with the trainer after not being at the gym since May, she got me really bad. I decided to stop the payment until I finish up all the sessions I missed since losing the baby. On my way home I was thinking I can do this with my friends without paying so much money..... talk baout the confidence I have in this group. Love you all wonderful people.

Yasmin, I totally agree, getting in shape shouldn't have to cost you anything!! I still have my gym membership, but have been doing C25K and weights at home. I'll still hang on to the membership for a rainy day, but I don't have to.
