Thanks guys!! Yes, tomorrow will be a rest day. The hub and I have music (recording) to catch up on. I haven't touched my keyboard in a week, which is rare!!

  • Hi.,

I am new to Myfitnesspal.... with some serious weightloss goals.. I have started the gym since last week after a gap of 5 months... I attend Kickboxing, Zumba and other sessions for 1 hour. Also I do kettlebells swing for 10-12 min for 3 times a week.

I want to lose my fat asap with right workout and healthy eating as I tried other diets which helpemd to lose weight fast but made me sick very quickly n ultimately ended up gaining 3X more weight.

Please let me know whats this program and also the best workouts to lose.

Hi, and welcome to MFP!! It sounds like you're on the right track with your exercise, but as you realized, losing weight "asap" doesn't necessarily do the body good. Try posting on the main forum, I'm sure you will get plenty of feedback on various types of workouts. Best of luck to you!!

Please let me know, whats this program.

C25K stands for "Couch to 5K" and is a 9-week program for beginner runners. You alternate walking and running, each week increasing the amount of running and decreasing the walking so that by the end of the 9 week period you can reasonably run a 5k race.

I would also agree with Felicia that losing weight ASAP rarely works and usually isn't healthy. You need to commit to the long haul and make life long changes to how you live. Certainly, do what you can to accelerate the process, but don't expect overnight success. One thing that has helped me recently is to focus on changing one habit at a time (and I mean ONE habit). For me the first habit change is snacking after dinner (a huge source of empty calories). It has really made a big difference. Good luck.

    a. W2D3 - Done (Friday) 3.5MPH Walking, 5.0MPH Running, Treadmill
    b. Best workout so far. A little slow on the first run, but then I just went for it.
    c. Did 5 minutes of additional warmup. Going to try 5.0mph next week, but will back off as needed.

I feel like I'm cheating just doing 3 workouts a week, but also feel that it's really helping me recover and get through these running sessions. I might try adding some Bob Harper Pure Burn/Super Strength DVD into the mix next week.

    Have a great weekend everyone!

Thanks Dave, I like the idea of changing one bad habit at a time. I better start making my list...

Nice workout Dave!! I feel that way too, although I know recovery is important. I think it's fine to do more as long as your body allows for it, and it's enjoyable. A coworker runs every day as a stress reliever. I cannot see myself doing that, but I hope that running becomes enjoyable at some point.

Dave thank you so much. Today isn't that good day for me. It is rainning, my bodyaches no incentive to run today. Craving for sweet but resisting the idea. I need to push myself to do the run.

    Thanks Yasmin!!
I did complete the bonus run!! It wasn't as hard as I though. Instead of doing the C25K workout, I decided to push myself a bit to prepare for the upcoming week...so walked a quarter-mile, then jogged a quarter-mile, for a total of two miles. It took me 2 min, 10 secs to complete a quarter mile, so I know next week, my jogs will be a little further.
