Hello Everyone! I recently found myself mere mouse clicks away from buying an expensive anti-cellulite cream. Luckily buyers remorse set in before the purchase and I decided to do a bit more research. ISo please help!!!! Do you have a favorite anti-cellulite treatment that you've seen results with? Thanks in advance for your input!

Do you ever watch tv? None of that crap works, just the old fashioned way. And if you are trying to loose a significant amount of weight it is going to look worse before it gets better. Just stay hydrated and exercise.
  • on top of my water and exercise i use Nivea Skin firming moisturizer with Q10 plus...I don't know if it's really working but it sure does make my skin feel soft!!

the firm lotions cheap or expesive do one thing tighten the top layer of skin making it appear to be smoother ...just a temp fix none of them get rid of those darn fat cells we have them for life or again unless you get lipo.

:flowerforyou: another reason firm creams may help is because you are applying them with your hand to a targeted area which stimulates the skin. your hand in the shower or with a 1.95 cream can do that

Since you have a sense of humor....
I use a moisturizing cream instead of lotion. Lotion contains alcohol which can be counter productive. I have noticed a difference in the appearance of the cellulite but I don't know if the cream can be hailed or getting my big *kitten* to the gym.

By the way, the cream was recommended by my dermatologist for a skin condition my son had on his chin and I just started using it and I think my skin looks all around better. I use cetaphil moisturizing cream, about $10 bucks a jar at Costco and about $14 or so at Target and WalMart.

Hope this comment actually helps, minus my smart *kitten* first response!

Sad but true. Cellulite creams don't work. There isn't an ounce of independently-reviewed research that proves they do. Spend your money on a personal trainer.

Not to be a downer, but sometimes even exercise won't budge it. I've never been too concerned with it, tho: I have bit, but who looks at the backs of my upper thighs? Hmm. My boyfriend, I guess, and anyone who sees me in a bathing suit. But then again I like to think they're looking more at my face! :)

    Deadlifts. Lots of them.

There is no magic in getting rid of an often genetically inherited disposition.

^ This. I know nothing about anti-cellulite creams, but I'm a big, big fan of the smarts, and she's got it! :)

    ^^^^^^^ this x100000000000000000000

there are no magic potions, if there were, you'd buy it, rub it on your cellulite and it would disappear and no-one would ever have cellulite

decent heavy lifting program + sensible calorie deficit including lots of healthy foods and drinking enough water

I did consumer trials on anti-cellulite creams, and you know what worked? Nothing. The combination of running and weight training, not to mention just losing some damn fat, have done the job that no creams can.

Think about it, would you really want to use a cream that had the power to be absorbed through the skin and interfere with your lymphatic system? That's why these just sit on the surface and pull skin tight until you next shower.

My Auntie swears by trampolining. Literally, she will go into the back garden with her kids and bounce and play and jump all over the trampoline, for hours! She showed me her legs after a few months.... and for someone who hardly watches what she eats and never steps into a gym... they look good. Hardly any cellulite left at all!

AquaFit classes (water aerobics). After doing classes twice weekly there was a marked improvement after a few weeks - I think running in the water had a lot to do with it!

I must admit that I use creams/oils for skin tone, though. I like Nivea Firming Body Oil. I buy it in Savers. where it's a third of the price in Boots.

Maybe I'm wrong but I start to think that the lotion brand or if it's expensive or cheap doesn't matter that much... the people here are right: water + healthy diet + exercise (aka the old fashion way) is the best way to kill it.

But, you can also use a lotion for cellulite as a complement (I have one from Garnier Body Tonic and another one from Dove). But to be honest I'm very lazy to apply them. Anyway, and as I was saying, I don't think the brand or price makes a difference, I think the way you apply it is the key: make hard movements from down to up (like from the knees to your tights) in a vigorous way. They say it's better to do it before going to bed, so...

Also, in my opinion, if you really need specific treatment, try to find some beauty center near you that perform Vacumtherapy and Pressotherapy, they are by far more effective than any lotion, since the 1st session. Just make sure that they are safe for you and give it a try. I think it's a better use of the money than to buy an expensive lotion.

    Hope it helps ;)

Dry brushing actually helps the appearance. I have no 'peer reviewed scientific research' to quote you other than it worked for me!

But obviously alongside water and exercise (which I do anyway before anyone starts!! The only change I made was dry brushing in the few months up to summer and it really helped reduce the appearance of cellulite on my thighs)

    Good luck :)

Just my input but i've started dry brushing my thighs and butt twice a day for a few weeks. My brush is circular with a hand held strap. its wooden and in between the bristles are also massagers. I do it in the morning and then before my shower after work. Just for like 5 minutes all in each time. I think I can see a bit of difference. the idea is to massage the fatty tissue. after my shower I massage in firming coca butter as well. I've recently stopped eating processed sugars and eating 90% clean and as of last weekend, i'm doing some strength training now too. I always drink at least 2 litres of water a day also. I'm hoping to improve it for my holiday in 6 months as I felt it had got quite bad. I should really take some before shots but its hard to at that angle ha. Maybe i'll ask my sister to do it, take afters at the 6 month period, and if it's all gone i'll sell my information and never have to work again looll...if only.

If there were something you could buy to eliminate cellulite, Scarlett Johanssen wouldn't have it:

Unfortunately, cellulite is normal and just about every woman on the planet has it. It's the beauty industry that has made us hate the way we naturally look.

Deadlifts have completely changed the backs of my legs...95% cellulite gone!!! I had more cellulite when I weighed less, and now that I have more muscle it has smoothed over.

I also do dry brushing a couple of times a week which just smoothes out the skin, makes it nice and soft, and helps with the appearance.

Besides the diet, water and exercise already mentioned, try exfoliating the cellulite prone areas when you shower. Use a body brush or rough cloth. I use a body scrub twice a week. It does make your skin smooth.
