it was a little, at least it went down and didn't stay up. i know the inches will be down. want to check, but, resiting that until the end. off to eat some breakfast, and than i have a sales meeting, and zumba tonight.

I am finally on track... I think I may be able to get to my goal weight of 170 by the end of the challenge... I went on a crazy binge last night, but was still down another pound today. I am so ready for this week - I am going to kick some *kitten*! I am going to wait until next week to measure... although it is tempting.

Good morning!
Well...I am the same this week, which is good. I don't really want to gain anymore this first trimester (which I have one more week of to reach 13 weeks). So yay! My goal was only 5 pounds the first trimester. Right on track.
Em...Kadence's party was great! Thanks for asking. We did it fairytale theme and the kids dressed up and played in the backyard...had lots of fun!
Cathy...you are down what I am up! Kinda funny! But way to go! 4.4 pounds is great!
So...I bought myself a new HR monitor for my birthday. Ended up going with a different brand. I had a Polar F6 and LOVED it, but the battery died and the face is all scratched. So, I planned to buy myself a new one, but the new Polars (they don't make mine anymore) are ugly and I don't like them! So, I found a New Balance N4 which is very comparable and cute! I LOVE the watch and the features are good, but the only thing is I have to wear chest strap pretty tight to keep it on my skin for a good reading. Last night when I worked out I don't think it was tight enough because the reading was all goofy...would be nothing, then say my HR was like 215 (which is was NOT). So, gonna see how it works tonight...hoping it's okay because I really like the watch!

I'm back! I didn't go on a trip or anything. I just had one of those busy weeks where there was something going on every evening. I also just this past Thursday realized that I have now less than a month to lose 2 pants sizes. Probably not going to happen, but I'm going to try my best to lose as much as I can and still be healthy about it. My son is in Cub Scouts and the family camp-out is the weekend of Oct. 22nd. I only have 1 pair of jeans that I can comfortably wear right now, and they're not in good shape at all. But I have 4 pairs of size 8 jeans hanging in my closet that have barely been worn. I don't want to go out and buy another couple pairs of pants. If I have to, I will though.
So I cut down on my calorie intake and greatly increased my exercise starting this past Friday. I haven't noticed a weight loss, but I'm noticing muscles starting to tone up. I've also lost half an inch from my waist since I measured last! And I've been under my calorie goal for 4 days in a row now!!! I've never done that before! :happy:

Hi ladies! I'm still here, just kinda laying low right now. I'm not going to weigh in today (or maybe this week). I was away at the beach for a long weekend, and pretty much let myself WAY overindulge. I have a real problem with keeping myself in check with eating. I can do great during the week, then blow it all on the weekends. It's driving me nuts. I need to somehow find the will power to keep myself motivated. I keep seeing all of these thin people (and all of the clothes I have that I would love to fit into) and I want that, but keep sabotaging myself from getting there. Any ideas to help me out? I'm going to try and check in more frequently with all of you (and get back on my exercise routine).

Kim - I know how you feel... and honestly I don't have much advice as I am still in the same boat. What I do know is that this group can help, and has helped me a ton. Try to check in everyday even if it is a quick hello. Also, jump on that scale tomorrow - you probably wont like what you see but that may help next time you have the urge to indulge... you may also find that things are not as bad as you think - I think we tend to put too much pressure on ourselves to be perfect... one bad weekend isn't going to ruin your progress... unless you ate about 40,000 calories (probably impossible)... anyways, jump on that scale and then get moving... lets make this week count...! I just ate a terrible lunch.... the co-workers surprised me with lunch out at my fav place.... ugh. But it is OK I have a great dinner planned and am going to work out.... so the damage will be minimal if anything.... LETS GO KIM!!!!!!!!!! YOU CAN DO THIS! All you need to do it drop 1 pound this week ... or half a pound... anything as long as we are moving in the right direction! Sorry for the rant :flowerforyou:0

kim...you will be fine. just deal with one day at a time, one hour if you need too. i agree with em get on the scale and get going. it's just a number. as i am dealing with that now. don't let your mind rule you.
amy...great job, hit the thrift shops and grab a few pairs. than you aren't spending the full price. if you just wear them for a month or two, no big deal.
kristen...yea, on your "little" gain. don't know about that HRM. mine is a reebok. it's ok, i saw the F6's at dic's goods. maybe they have some older ones on clearance. i have gotten both mine at play it again sports.

Ok...so I think I'm going to return my HR montior and order a Polar FT40. It's more expensive but has a bunch more features and I am familiar with Polars and know that it will work! I've been reading reviews all day and think that will be much more worth my money! Will decide for sure tonight!
Kim and Amy...from experience, the only thing that I have found that works (for me anyway) is I need to be able to still enjoy the foods/tastes that I love. Get into an exercise routine as best you can...then you just do it...no thinking involved. I have a big bowl of cereal in the mornings (because I love it), then a sensible snack mid-morning. Lunch is a mix of protein, veggies, and carbs with a yogurt (sweet for a dessert), mid afternoon snack, sensible portioned dinner of whatever I want, then something sweet in the evenings (my favorite right now is 2 reduced fat graham crackers with cool whip free stuck in the freezer for about an hour). SO...I still get my sweets in (which is what I crave) but as long as I'm getting in my exercise I don't feel bad...and I see results on the scale (well...not now as there is a human growing in me )! You will find a balance, sometimes it just takes a while...and we ALL have our ups and downs, so don't beat yourself up. Just start a new day and try again!

Finally decided to step on the scale and take what ever came. It wasn't as bad as I expected. But now to get my butt back in gear. Have to buy new jeans soon as nothing I have fits (too small), so I'm going to see if I can get myself in shape as I am dirt poor right now and can't afford anything new right now. Not feeling motivated, but I'll get there.
I'll check back in later. Gotta get some work done (not motivated there either).

good morning...
i just ran my first straight mile. do me go me....i am on cloud nine right now. it just felt so good. i would look at the time or millage and say just a little longer. than i worked through some little pains, and two small asthma attacts. now i am going to do some house cleaning and laundry and just chill for the day. nothing on the calendar for the rest of the week.

i was thinking today, that when we say we want to lose this much weight by this event or time frame. when we don't met it, we bet ourselves up for it. than feel bad and eat, and so begins the rollor coaster down hill. you have to just do it and not for an event or time frame. like kristen said it has to just be habit and without thought. you over think it, it doesn't work. (that is what i struggle with). do it for you and no one else. if you have a pair of pants (seems to be the thing for cooler weather coming) than do it for the pants, not a time frame to wear the pants. but, to just get in the pants.
ok, i am done, going off to eat breakfast and clean.

Well, I broke the losing streak. Not sure how I'm up quite that much. I'm hoping that some of it is water and I'll notice a loss at some point.
I went to a thing here at work called know your numbers, where they do instant blood testing for cholesterol and glucose levels, blood pressure, and weight. I'm a little concerned, but then again I'm not sure that their little blood reader was correct. It came back telling me that my overall cholesterol was over 400 (over 200 is considered bad), but both my HDL (over 100, should be over 50) and my LDL (under 100, should be no higher than 160) were good. I'm really confused and worried now. Does anyone have any experience with these? They also took my fasting glucose (about 1-2 minutes apart) and it was 125, then 133, then 150. Those seem REALLY high to me, being a non-diabetic. I as raised by a nurse, so I know quite a bit about medicine (and I do have my Ph.D. in genetics), so I'm really confused. I was planning to go to my family doctor at the beginning of the year to have her order blood work, but now I'm freaked out.
I'm hoping to try and get back on track this week. I feel like I keep saying that, but not actually doing it. I was to be thinner and more healthy, but I'm just lazy. It's so much easier to stop and pick up something already made for dinner, than it is to come home and cook for myself. Maybe part of my problem is depression and loneliness? I really need to get myself figured out!0 -

Today is DRAGGING... Boo! Oh well. Got in my yoga workout last night. Tonights plan is my strength/cardio workout or a run...haven't decided yet. And I'm 12 weeks today!! YAY!!!! Last week of this first trimester!!
I returned the HRmonitor I bought and ordered a Polar from Amazon...I know I will be happy with it since I LOVE my old Polar! Can't wait for it to come!!
Kadence peed in the potty at daycare yesterday...pretty exciting!! I'm SO ready for her to be potty trained!!

kim....i would check with your doctor. i know sugars 125 and above is diabetic. i have to keep mine below 110 at best.
a nice relaxing day. just did laundry, watched some tv. and read. tomorrow get the grocery list made and match up with coupons and hit the stores this weekend.

Hey ladies! Actually getting on the boards this evening! I have to tell you that I came home feeling pretty crummy and wanted to just lay on the couch, but I thought "I always feel so much better after I exercise..." So I got off my butt and did my strength/cardio workout and I feel a million times better!! See...exercise really does help!! I hope I remember this in the future!0

yea kristen...it sure does make you feel better. it's just the beginning that stinks. i was using the excuse of upset tummy not to do anything today, but, did it anyway. i was fine.
i already did a 2 mile wogg this morning. now for a shower and head to the store. both hubby and i are feeling a little upset tummies this morning. him a little worst off than me. he has to push through it. it's the end of the month he has to have his clients done by tomorrow evening. it's extra money. so i think chicken soup for dinner. or he likes tomato.

Kim - I don't know much about that stuff... I would just make an appointment with your regular doctor... in the mean time don't stress about it, just try to focus on one day at a time... we are in this for the long haul... now get up and go for a nice long walk!

Going back to the doctor today... not getting any better even with antibiotics... I really hope ti is not the flu or something like that... with my luck it is. I have been eating healthy... just not really exercising.... I can hardly breath properly sitting right now... ugh. :sick:0 -

Well...I told my supervisor that I'm pregnant this morning and it went really well! She's super excited for me and excited that Kadence will have a sibling! YAY!! I really needed to since I have a definite baby bump now...amazing how quick I popped this time!
Going out for dinner to celebrate my husbands birthday since he will be gone tomorrow (his actual birthday). And I made a chocolate cake which I have already factored into my calories for today. Hoping to get in a run this afternoon, but I have lots to do around the house also before I head out to my parents tomorrow after work for the weekend...so we shall see.
