Add 13.1 miles for me today....with shoes today. LOL

So um with Abby's count that puts us a 203.6 Miles.

    203.6 + 6.45 = 210.05

10.37km today in what was supposed to be a Long Slow Run at a casual pace but which turned out to have a bit more oomph than expected. 100m elevation gain over the first 6km or so and then lost it all in 2km.

I've done 24.4 miles this week. (Do I get bonus miles because half were barefoot?)

I'm not sure you get bonus miles, but you get the knowledge that you didn't have to pay for the shoes we were all running in ;)

You know, a bunch of my friends have switched to minimalist and even barefoot running. I just haven't gotten the bug yet.

Ran 3.4 miles this evening... chased down with a cold beer.

    Total 231 miles.

    231 + 5.5 = 236.5

5.5 miles on the treadmill in the gym.

Did a drill where I spent 45 seconds up on my toes simulating a sprint with higher knees and a full kick followed by 15 seconds regular running (mid sole strike), followed by a drop in speed and a 1 minute recovery run.

After 10x that bit I was getting tired, but I felt GREAT when I was up on my toes. I found it easier to run a bit faster that way than it was to run midsole strike.

Gonna have to practice that outdoors now sometime soon.

It is a nice idea :) good luck. I did 5 on the 9th and two at a fast walk yesterday (does that count) 236.5 +7=243.5
How are you going to keep this going? You will need to friend loads of people.

I ran another 5.6 miles this morning to bring the total up to 249.1

@johnhowson, I don't expect to live long enough to be there at the finish line of this challenge. It doesn't matter.

This is like a virtual relay race!

249.1 + 3.14 (mix of walking and running, but it's the best I can do right now) = 252.24 miles.

If the total distance is only 24,900 miles, and we are at 249.1 miles now (actually, 252.24 miles), we really only need to do 100 times more than we've done so far!

I started the thread 18 days ago, and it only started up slowly. Will this take us 5.5 years? nahhhh. I think that as the thread gains momentum (I see a LOT of people posting in various threads about running and I know a lot of people are using running to get fit) we'll see this pick up speed.

    My guess... 2 years, tops.

    I'm an optimist :)

I did another 10.2 since my last update:
    252.24 + 10.2 = 262.44
  • I just ran across this thread. Since it began on 9/26 I've run 48.25 miles...

    262.44 + 48.25 = 310.69

Question, what are people using for tracking their runs anyway? I'm using a Garmin that I love, but I know folks who are using all kinds of stuff.

Just saw this. I'm a beginner, but willing to start posting my miles on here if you'd like another person to join. Did 3.1 today.
  • I have done 41 miles this month!
  • Kilter
    Kilter Posts: 188 Member
    373.54 + 3.1 (for bregalad5) + 41 for (zoey36918) and + 6.91 (for me today) = 424.55

bregalad and zoey, just add in your runs to the total.

Alrighty. I haven't separated out my runs from my walks and swims, so I have no idea how much I've done so far, but I'll start separating!

    This week I've run 17.5!

    So 431.69 + 17.5 = 449.19
  • 449.19 + 3.1 = 452.29!!
