October-Burn 5,000 calories/wk challenge!! :o)

I joined a group in September to burn 5,000 calories/wk and I lost 10 pounds and 12 inches!! I'd like to keep this going...anybody else want to join me? I'm going to start the logging on Oct. 3rd, giving us exactly 4 weeks. At the end of the week, just post how many calories you burned each day and what exercises you used; and also the amount of weight lost. I look forward to seeing everyone's results...good luck!!:smile:

    Wow, I love a girl who can throw me a challenge! I don't know if I can make this weekly but I DO KNOW that I will do all that I can to burn 5000 calories a week. Should I watch this post or how will I know where to find you??

    I'm in! Do we go by what MFP says we burned for explicit exercise? Keep our own log and compare at the end of every week? Open diary? I try only to log activity that makes me sweat or really raises my heart rate.

    I just need to get moving! This would be good motivation!

    I'll participate again this month. I attained my weight loss goal last month. So, I will not be focusing so much on weight loss again. However, I would like to keep up the calorie burning pace in order to maintain my new weight range.

    Do we start on Monday and weigh-in on Sundays again? Also, I see someone started a similar challenge a few days earlier than this one. I'll check back to see which one has active updates...

    10.2.11--613 Run/walking (stupid knees!)

    Total so far: 1486 calories.

    Are we starting officially on Monday?

    Hi, everyone! So, the plan is to start today, October 3, 2011...since MFP already keeps track of totals Monday-Sunday, this seems easiest. And it gives us exactly 4 weeks in October. The goal? To burn 5,000 calories/wk for the next four weeks...20,000 calories/Oct.!! Don't feel you have to log on the post every day. I plan on just logging in on Mondays, the first one being Oct. 10th. Good luck everyone!! :o)

    Here's an example of how I plan to post every Monday:

    **Example**
    Week 1:
    Monday (10/03): 589 (90 min. doubles tennis)
    Tuesday (10/04): 1055 (45 min. Cardio HipHop Class; 45 min. Pump it Up Class; 18 min. walking; 30 min. elliptical)
    Wednesday (10/05): 460 (60 min. (11 miles) Bicycling outside)
    Thursday (10/06): 1063 (45 min. Cardio HipHop Class; 45 min. Pump it Up Class; 15 min. (1.3 miles) running; 65 min. walking leisurely)
    Friday (10/07): 949 (45 min. Zumba Toning Class; 18 min. Walking briskly; 43 min. (4 miles) running
    Saturday (10/08): 703 (15 min. walking leisurely; 63 min. (13 miles) Bicycling outside)
    Sunday (10/09): 1124(110 min. singles tennis)

    Total for the week: 5,943 calories burned and 2 pounds lost!! :o)

    Okay, I'm In - managed to hit target 4 out of 5 weeks last month - bad cold kept me off the bike for one of the weeks, so I'd better try harder this month...

    Everything is on the road bike unless stated - mileages / Kcals as measured via Garmin 705, again unless specified.

    Week 1 - 1/10/2011 - 7/10/2011 - 4,344kcal
    1/10/2011 - 24.40Km - (15.16 miles) - 1,457Kcal - local loop out of the front door,
    3/10/2011 - 24.37km - 48.77km total - (30.30 miles) - 1564 Kcal (3021 kcal total) - windy, windy, WINDY!
    4/10/2011 - 21.01km - 69.78km total - (43.35 miles) - 1323kcal (4344 kcal total) - mtb instead of roadbike - still WINDY!
