We've made greek yogurt by just using a strainer on normal yogurt. Ours is some silly little yogurt strainer that we got probably from an informercial, but I think the tride and true way is with a cheese cloth. Using cottage cheese is a really cool idea. I've seen yogurt as a substitute before, but not cottage cheese--do you find a difference in taste or texture?

I made a fresh batch before my trip last week using cottage cheese and greek yogurt (less applesauce) and they turned out great! Moister and way more delicious!

thanks for the idea, Chris!

As for the texture of the cottage cheese in these - ahhh I don't really notice it at all? Not too sure. I mean you can definitely tell that they are made with egg whites,, dairy and oats, but the chocolate makes up for it IMO. They're not dessert, but they are pretty damn good!

Wonderful! I'm not a fan of super sweet things so these look perfect. I love the recommendation of crumbling these over fruit! Thank you!
