I use fatblaster. Have used it in the past with great success, now decided to do it again (no, didn't gain it all back - only one size over about 18 months but didn't go as far as I would've liked to the first time either). Doesn't leave me hungry, I'm quite happy with the carb content etc and appreciate that it's a bit of a multi vitamin. I've seen some comments in here on excess sodium and that sort of thing but I actually have to add salt to just about everything cos I'm nowhere near the daily requirments and that causes cramps! I eat plenty of 'real' food, snacks and a good dinner, but it's great for making sure I'm getting everything I need and not skipping meals or being tempted by the crap in my workplace! Each to their own and read the nutrition panels carefully I'd say :P

I use Shakeology for my breakfast every morning, and it is actually the healthiest meal of my day
Help me loose weight, gives me energy, stop my sweet cravings.
And is chocolate flavor and it is sooo yummmyyyy

If a processed shake is the healthiest meal of your day.... what on earth do you eat for the rest of the day?

I use the glucerna or diabetic boost meal replacements every now n then. I also have a whey isolate shake in the evening to helps top my protein for the day.

Yesterday infact, I was on the go, so I used a boost for breakfast and lunch. They were easy to carry, satisfied and I got what was needed in in the time I had allotted. I do not have them every day but they fit into my plan when needed.

People who speel about them having too much sugar or sodium are very uniformed or they do not look at ALL meal replacements to know that there ARE good choices out there. a diabetic boost for example has 4g of sugar ONLY 4!! that is a far cry from a piece of fruit that can be up to 14g and hey I still eat fruit too ;) Sodium is only 180mg ... not bad in my opinion.
Now the fat is 7g.. yes that is on the high side but if you choose wisely for the rest of the day... fat content for the day balances out... and we all do need some fat :)

I usually eat a special k cereal bar (90 calorie) with my lunches that I pack for work, they are just easy to throw in a lunch, pretty low calorie, and give me a nice chocolate fix.

I have Slim fast and Special K sometimes... It's good to mix it up! I love the cappuccino and strawberries and cream Slim fasts when I don't have time for breakfast. I love Special K's Blueberry, vanilla almond, cinnamon pecan, and chocolate delight cereals. They are great as breakfasts and desserts!! :-) The two nut ones are especially good with almond milk!!

The problem with Special K cereal is that it's pretty low in fiber.
  • I'd say they're good for a quick breakfast or a snack, but the Special K diet "works" because you starve. I tried it for two weeks and couldn't believe how hungry I was!

I love the Special K cereal bars, especially the blueberry! They're sooooo good! I have one for breakfast every once in a while, only 90 calories!

I mix up whey protein with unsweetened almond milk for a shake at mid-morning and mid-afternoon as snacks. I still have breakfast, lunch and dinner as regular food.

Me too! It's so much better than the meal replacement shakes such as slim fast. I like that I control what goes in it and can limit carbs and sugars.

Sometimes I use it when I don't have a lot of time or I need a quick food fix. However, I don't recommend using them as a diet because the weight tends to not stay off. Plus if you have gained weight due to bad eating habits, it is more efficient to just change your eating habits.

Slimfast is probably the devil, You would probably be better off buying a good quality whey protein mix if you want to have a "milkshake" type of thing, I think Special K is the devil too, Some of the special K stuff has HFCS and Hydrogenated oils in it so read the labels.

Anyone using meal replacement drinks?? Which are the good ones???

What about Special K cereal, bars and shakes??

Eat REAL food, not fake, processed food.
  • i work long hours and dont often have the time to stop and have a real meal during the day. As a result i was cramming in a lot of calories at the end of the night just to keep my cal levels up. I got around this by having an atkins advantage bar or a special k meal bar in the morning and another one later in the day. The high amounts of protein help keep my hunger at bay so i dont snack but the calories keep me from having to gorge at the end of the night. I wouldnt want to live off of them but as a snack or a meal alternative i havent noticed any negative side effects.

This has NOTHING to do with the "shake" question....but, I am DESPARATE!! So many of you on this thread have lost 15-30+ pounds & I would really appreciate your honest feedback, as to how I can do the same?

I have been tracking my calories and staying under 1400 for almost 2 months now. I keep seeing the scale go up and down....without any REAL weight loss consistency. I am also doing Zumba about 4 times a week, for 40 minutes each time.

I am 39 years old, 5'3", and need to lose about 40-50 pounds. Can anyone tell me if I just need to do something different?? I have ALWAYS heard and read that I shouldn't go below 1200 calories a day, and I know that for me....(especially with 3 small children)....if I go below 1200 calories, I am just plain MEAN to everyone!!

I do have thyroid issues, and have been on medication for 9 years b/c of it.....but, I regularly get it checked & it is normalized w/ my medicine. So, I don't think that is the problem.

    Any suggestions?
