Yes - I don't post if I know nothing of the subject matter, if I do I will post whether I am in agreement/disagreement, but what i am guilty of is the intermittent inappropriate joke. Think of "The Office" and Micheal's "That's what she said.." If someone says something that can be misconstrued in a hilarious way, I usually take the bait. It's never to hurt, just to lighten the mood.

    That's what she said!

If you don't have something nice to say don't say anything.

Yup. The reason is to make others feel bad.

Does disagreeing with someone = I'm being negative?

    Around here it does

Exactly. I am not going to be quiet because you can't handle dissent.

    Deal with it.

My original post said nothing about disagreeing. It's about being a jerk. There is a difference.

I think trying to control other people is pretty jerky.

Nope - you can disagree and be respectful. But let's face it - there are some on here that are anything but respectful and downright just rude.

And there are just as many that whine about people being rude when all the are doing is stateing their opinions. The words Negitive an rude get flung around this site like monkey poop.
I will continue to act the way I always have around here and im sure everyone else will too

Unfortunately and sadly, you are probably right.

Ha love the irony that this is very close to being one of those threads! Without conflict, would you know what peace is? Of course, I am not excusing the douches. And let's face it, douches abound ;)

As my mom would say, "y'all be sweet now."

Enough with the happy "Lets all give hugs and live in butterfly and rainbow land" crap.

People post. People say offensive things.

You're not going to win this. Some just love a reason to twist what you say so they can bash. Just walk away. It's not you.
  • I enjoy MFP. I enjoy the accountability. I enjoy learning new aspects of nutrition/fitness. I enjoy the "just for fun" message boards. Sometimes when I look at a post and it's something that I can't offer any value to, then I just kindly go back to the main screen. There is no real reason to be hateful, right? So, when you're feeling negative and you can't appreciate a topic someone has posted - just don't bother responding. Kindly move on your way.

    With ya sister..........
  • I know what you mean. People disagree with my lifestyle because my girlfriend is inflatable. Do you have any idea how many tickets I've received when I'm driving in the carpool lane and get pulled over?? All I want to do is take my girl on a date. The cops don't understand and write me a ticket for being the only person in the car while being in the carpool lane. It's so frustrating when people just can't accept my lifestyle.

By the way, it's our one year anniversary tonight! I hope I don't pop a hole in her!

Jade, I was on topic. I was just providing an example as to why people don't agree with my lifestyle, yet interfere. Please, keep your topic derailing suggestions to yourself.

I agree- most of the time, some of the posts are too priceless to pass up on though,

-for example when someone decides to post about thier BM, the weight, consitancy , etc..

    - everyother topic on chit/chat/fun,

I try not to be mean, but you got to say something, LOL, sorry in advance!!

Okay. Don't panic. What you need is a good puncture repair kit. You should be able to get one at Home Depot. If all else fails, use duck tape. Good luck, and big hugs.
