My short term goal is 190 by the 6th of November... That is 15 pounds in less than 4 weeks... Not going to be easy, so along with my current training and dieting, I am going to go for adding a mono-diet day on Sundays. Opinions?

What does that mean. You will not be eating for a day?0
-
I'd like to know what that means also.0
-
It is a type of fasting, but I will be eating, only I will be eating 1 type of food for the entire day. Tomorrow I will eat nothing but grapes and water for the entire day. Next week will be nothing but apples and so on.0

I think you lick a public toilet seat on day one.. you know, to 'jump start' the weight loss.0 -

Sounds good. I will be eating cheesecake all day on Sundays.0

Ummmmm...ya...in my opinion...that may lead to sitting on the toilet the whole day..is that what your planning on? :sick:0

whats the point of that it'll be horrible you'll get sick of which ever fruit you chose to eat that day and not want to eat fruit through out the week losing out on the vitamins and with all the sugar in the grapes apples ect you'll go way over your calorie allowance and prob start to feel sick! starving your self or fasting as you put it for one day every week will only make your body hold on to the fat your trying to get rid off. making things allot harder for your self0

When my trainer told me to try it, that was one of the first foods I asked if I could have, unfortunately NO... No cheesecake, no Pernil, No M&Ms, No DQ Blizzards... nothing I would love to eat all day.0 -

Honestly I think it's not a good idea, trying to lose 15 pounds in 4 weeks. I can be done, but not really in a way that will promote healthy loss and maintenance. Losing more than 2 pounds a week isn't a good idea. And even 8 pounds lost by Nov 6 will look good. It's better to do it right and then just keep moving forward toward your ultimate goal.0

Make sure you have plenty ot toilet paper, could be a long night!0

I've never had mono, but I think it lasts longer than a day...0

Ummm... No. I will not go over my calorie intake for the day. I am still going to keep it under 1600.0 -

I'm not the one licking toilets.... :bigsmile:0 -
Your trainer needs his or her credentials re-examined.0

I honestly think doing a mono diet for one day is a good idea...think about cleansing!!! I might try it too.0
-
My opinion, since you did ask. Eating only one type of food all day is not a healthy way to diet. If you eat grapes all day you're not getting any protein, and fat, or a long list of essential nutrients. Plus, that would just be completely not fun.0
-
One day out of 7 days of eating the mono diet is not gonna cause ANY harm at all. I think i'm gonna try it as well!!0

Can't you just take some ex lax and Alli and eat a pizza? Same poop affect with better tasting and more filling food. Just stock up on magazines, tp and air Freshener.0

Hmmm... Learning a lot from this one Topic. Not about training, dieting or goals, but still learning...0

I'm about to ask a very stupid question....but I can't help myself!
How on earth are you going to manage to eat 1600 cals of apples??? Jaffa cakes, I could do (in fact have done in the past, hence the whole fatness thing...) but not apples and I love apples!
Or have I completely misunderstood...?0 -
Not a stupid question... I guess i should have specified, 1600 cal is my CAP not the amount I am trying to intake daily. I try to keep under that number for total cals for the day. Anything under 1600, and Im good.0
-
Seriously..now..how about eating the same soup all day?? at least you can have protein, veggies, and carbs mixed in..or are you looking for one ingredient in general?0
