w5d3: done job at speed 5
NEVER in my wildest dreams would I have thought I could jog for 20 minutes. I thought about it all day. The first 10 minutes flew by. I laughed when the guy said, "you are half done" I never looked at the time till it said 2:33 left. Then I looked at it again when it said 14 seconds left. I counted down with it at that point!!!!
I checked out next wk. I feel like because I did this the rest of the wks are going to be smooth sailing. I am going to be OPTIMISTIC from this point on.

My one problem I am having and if anyone has any advice please share. My shoulders burn so bad while I run. It usually starts the last 5 minutes every time. When I feel the burn I try to hang my arms to make sure I am not tensing up, but it is so persistent.

:flowerforyou: Tonya Great job. I was thinking the same 5 wks ago I was struggling with the 1 min and today 20 min it is great feeling to have. We are the Dream Team:heart::love:

    Smiles to all!

    a.Wk5D3 Done!!!! walked @ 3 jogged 4.5 with .5-1% incline.
    b. I started doubting myself after the 5 min run and my right leg started acting up. I kept telling myself you can do it and if this leg doesn't carry you it is going to kill you. I'm glad I went thru it and it was so worth it.
    c. I'm going to do a bonus run to feel comfortable.

Felicia I'm going to get you!! I was telling myself Felicia said it is not so bad you can do it.

Yaay Yasmin!! Hahahaha, ok, maybe I exaggerated a little about the "not so bad" but you got through it!! I think a bonus run is a good idea, I plan on doing mine tomorrow. I'll definitely let you all know how it went.
  • Congrats to everyone that has completed week 5!! You are an inspiration!

    B. The run was better than expected. I got two stitches but managed to breathe my way out of tremendous pain! I also ran past a hot television presenter in the UK, on the last minute of my run. Really not my best moment!! :blushing:
  • a. W5D3 done!! Walk 3.0; Jog 5.4
    b. It wasn't too excruciating! I cannot believe that I did it!!
    c. I cannot of think of anything that I will change for next week at the moment.

Tonya, so true. I remember when we were whinning about running for 1.5 minutes!! We've come so far!! I agree about the pardon too, he stuck with it as long as he could.

Yasmin, you are AWESOME!! Glad you decided to do a bonus run!! I don't see much talk about our fear for the upcoming week. You know why?? Because we are RUNNERS!!

Could you all believe that our final week (week 9) is the week of November 7th?? We are almost there!!

    a. W6D1 completed 17/10/11
    b. The run was tiring, I so badly just wanted to quit and give up. But I pushed through because we're all doing this together and the group really motivated me so I could post that I have completed the run.
    c. Improve my motivation - maybe change my playlist, run a different route.

I saw this on the internet. I assume it's from a t-shirt or bumper sticker, but it made me think of all of you.

"I Know I Run Like a Girl TRY TO KEEP UP! "

Have a great week of running! You gals are so capable and so close to finishing nine weeks!

Bry, glad that you didn't give up! What's been getting me through is knowing that you all are here to see me through it, and I don't want to let you guys down. A different route might do the trick and hopefully your next run will be better ♥
