Hey Guys,
So I was anorexic for a while, and for a while, I was so used to eating so little so I have a hard time reaching my calorie goals now. I am now losing weight the healthy way but still, I have a hard time reaching my goal becuase for a while I drilled it in my brain that I should eat less. Any tips to reach my goal of 1,200 cal?
* I usually go to the gym and burn off 500 cal, so that definently doesn't help, but I really want to go!0 -

You should eat high calorie carbs and proteins.0 -
Try working your way up. Like you said you drilled it into your head to eat less. So eat a little more each week or so. Eat healthy and work on finding the right diet for you and by diet I do not mean dieting just what you should be eating.0

forget it.
Otay. Buh bye....see ya in an hr when you're magically 21.0 -
To your question: I would say eat things with fat in them. Nuts and nut butters, oils, meats, cheeses- these things are not hard to find, but may be hard to convince yourself to eat.
One thing I feel I must say here though: If you've had a past with anorexia, you really should be talking to a doctor about whether it is sensible for you to be trying to lose weight at all and how to adjust and balance your diet/in take. Kudos for working to reach a minimum calorie goal but maybe take a break from intense workouts- switch to walking for a half hour with a friend or family member or doing something otherwise active but not toward the mentality of "burning calories".
I know 110 is not unreasonable at 5'4", but especially if you can't 100% trust your own perceptions of your weight, it makes a lot of sense to work with a medical professional to come to a place where you can be healthy and happy with yourself.0 -
I'll admit to nothing
Saying you are one age on the internet doesn't change your true age. Please see a professional.0 -

Hi there, I had a similiar struggle when I was younger. Take these peoples advice, its not your body that needs help, it is your mind. Dont take their advice and you might end up 2 yr later 40 1b overweight, and you will have wished you took their advice on getting help and learning about healthy body image when you were at a healthy weight instead of overweight. Long term thinking my friend. If you want to make yourself look thinner, healthier etc, work on toning exercises, muscle building exercises, that you GAIn weight, gain muscle. And celebrate that! No one thinks a 100 1b is hot anymore. You want to look good, get toned, who doesnt like a 4 pack abs etc, and strong people DONT worry about being the skinniest lightest person around.0

Hi Posters,
Thanks for your reports on this.
We're committed to giving underage users other resources that are age appropriate, and are working on a system that would present minors with these options when they attempt to log-in, rather than simply denying access with no explanation.
Until we have that system in place, I'm trying manually to redirect underage users to
http://www.nutrition.gov/nal_display/index.php?info_center=11&tax_level=2&tax_subject=390&topic_id=1744&placement_default=0
and those struggling with ED to
http://www.anad.org/site/anadweb/
Please know that we're making note of all underage users we come across, with a goal of offering other options than MFP. And keep those reports coming, they're a major help.
Regards,
Steven
