It says on the package serving size 1 oz so how many pieces of it is 1oz of the beef jerky?

It really helps to get a scale so you can measure it. Or, does the package say how many servings in one package? You can divide it up into the correct number of servings so you know what's approx 1 oz.5

thats a liquid oz though, right? is that different than a weight ounce?
Edit: I just googled it. Fluid ounces are not interchangeable with an ounce of weight.2 -
1 oz is approximately the size of a slice of American Cheese. Saw this on another blog somewhere and just verified on a kitchen scale.6

I agree. The search function here is awful! I think a lot of the zombie bumps come from external searches that return results from these forums. Something good to remember when deciding how much info to share here

I do have an account so I suppose I did log in but that was so long ago I do not recall

FWIW, you can force Google to search a specific site if you add "site:(url address)" to your search terms, which is a useful workaround for places with a terrible, built-in search function. For example, "ounces beef jerky site:community.myfitnesspal.com" turns up this thread as the first result.5

Depends on the site. Google will usually give you results from most sites whether you have an account or not, but sites that require you to log in to search sometimes block Google. I think MFP is open to everybody for searching.2

That's interesting. A slice of my cheddar weighs in at 0.5 oz on my scale. Then again, I always ask them to slice it thin.1 -

Also, beef jerky IS confusing! I just eat the whole pack. Simples. Because who can stop eating beef jerky after one ounce??6 -
Back on topic, the beef jerky I buy (or have ever bought) is always cur in different sized pieces. They only weigh the bag for total saleable wt.
If you need to eat only 1 oz or want to know exxactly what the wt of a,specific diece is, just buy/use a cheap digital scale to weigh each oiece b4 you eat it.2 -
I make my own and then weigh it piece by piece as I eat it, since they’re all different. Got a new batch going in the dehydrator this morning. Homemade beats store bought hands down. Am experimenting with adding a little pineapple juice for sweetness this time. The last batch was awesome, except I forget it and it got hard as a rock. Not always a bad thing when you’re trying not to scarf a whole bunch down at once!3
