Just an FYI Regarding Your Period and Weight Gain

I see this question come up quite often and thought I would help out. Maybe we can thumbtack this to help the people that join in the future.
I know it can be a frustrating time for women. PMS causes bloat which in turn causes your weight to fluctuate, which is why a scale should only be used as a guideline during weight loss. There are a ton of threads dedicated to just this topic. All I did was type in "Period" on the search and these are only a few from the first two pages that came up. So, there is plenty of reading to do.
Also, Google is an excellent tool for researching this type of thing. The first link listed is from WebMD and should be helpful to those with questions about your period, pms, weight gain, etc.
I hope this is helpful to those with questions about this. I also hope it helps to relieve your fears about any weight gain you might have around this time.
Good luck!!

Thanks for bumping this up Tam.
I went through the bloaties last week and was starting to get discouraged because I was being so good and working out and eating really well yet the scale just wasnt budging (at least NOT in the direction I wanted it too!! ) I took my measurements and saw I had shrank a bit in certain spots then checked the calendar and low and behold... I was due a visit from Aunt flo and just chaulked it up to water weight.
2 days after Aunt flo arrived the extra water weight is totally gone and sure enough, Ive even lost 2 more pounds! SWEET! So... lemme say girls.. dont get discouraged! Its worth it! Your efforts to stick to the workouts and your diet will pay off once the ***** leaves town.. :laugh:0 -

THANKS! I was about to throw the scale out of the window when I got on it the day before my period came. I was like WHAT THE HELL IS THIS! LOL!!!
Consequently, I have decided not to torch my scale and instead hide it from myself until after aunt flow leaves town. ;-) :glasses:0 -
