If anyone is interested, one of the moderators of a discussion closed yesterday mentioned that mfp is working on allowing groups that would consent to talk about whatever they want.

It seems like they have been talking about these groups forever now. Perhaps it will be our Christmas present.

    Seems way over dramatic.

This site is a tool to help with weight loss, not a place to discuss religion. We all just suck it up, continue to log, and go about our day. I don;t really see the point and making a fuss about the forums

    good luck.

    EXACTLY! Yep....

I don't have any idea how long this post will be allowed up before it is deleted by the ever diligent moderators.

Kinda sounds like you are looking to get this topic locked.....

I rarely post anything rude, but this is the second time this week I've read a "I'm leaving" thread in the forums. Who cares? Just leave and let your friends know as they're the only ones who have vested interest in your posts. Geez.

    And Happy Halloween! :-D

    MFP is not a country.

It is a private organisation. Therefore, freedom of speech does not apply.

If Mike wanted he could disable the forums and our ability to post comments on our walls entirely and only allow us to use the diary aspect of the site.

    His site, his rules. :flowerforyou:
Yes. This!Good luck to you where ever you wind up.
On a side note, these rules exist to mantain peace and order here. Certain topics cause a lot of fighting to happen and mean comments being hurled around and the best way to avoid them is to not allow those topics. You do have a profile that you can talk about stuff with your friends. Just not on the boards.

I absolute adore people who bring out the "freedom of speech" card when they obviously have no idea what it actually means.

What it means: the government can't prosecute you for speaking your mind.

What it doesn't mean: you can say whatever you want with no responsibility or consequences of any kind.

The mods will probably not close this thread just to spite you. XD
