my hair used to be halfway down my back. I cut it real short (see my pic!) about two months ago, and never regretted it. So much easier!

Gotta have the facial structure for it, definitely. Round or heart shaped faces don't typically look good with very short cuts on women. Petite girls look best with short hair, in my opinion.

Any kind of hair can look great, or look awful, depending on the effort put in by the person wearing it. It's like anything: clothes, accessories, even our own bodies. Nothing looks good when you let it go.

I love short hair but I can't pull it off. My face is way too round for anything above my shoulders. Plus, my hair is wavy so it frizzes really bad when it is short. I envy girls that can wear it and look good!

My hair prob about hits the top of my jeans in the back. Really long. So long that I think I'd be sad if I cut it now. But I have a hair appointment next week so we shall see! But I predict I get a trim lol. Maybe it's because I have long hair, but I've always preferred long hair on women.

it really just depends. if it goes wrong you look butch and that looks kind of bad. i think you REALLY need the right bone structure to work it. I mean - Natalie Portman and Janelle Monae can be bald and still appear flawless. I think a really round face looks weird with short hair, i could never pull it off. but a heart-shaped or oval face can look really great.

I did have hair down to my waist but had to chop it up to my shoulders because most of it was dead. Since then, my hair has hardly grown. I keep hoping & hoping but nothing happens. Thinking of giving up to be honest. Right now it's just past my jaw line. I was thinking of maybe giving up & getting a really nice shorter hair cut but I'm useless with styling hair. Short hair doesn't look good on me unless I make the effort. I have a square shaped face with define cheekbones.

^this. my hair is almost to my butt and i'm still growing it out. i love my long hair and couldn't picture myself without it.

I cut all mine off in January. It was alright, but I didn't love it. Don't regret doing it. I like just where it is know, chin length. This is my husband's favorite length on me as well.

I've seen a very small handful of girls who can rock it,hard (ie. my friend Kirsten-- http://a3.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/47724_158717527472210_100000018917651_526807_8010119_n.jpg) but honestly I think long hair is so stunning and sultry and looks better on pretty much everyone.

I also think it really ages a woman to cut it short, because I work at Curves (a women's gym) and almost every woman over 55 has that super short hair cut. I think that longer hair looks more fresh and youthful.

For me it depends on the face shape and body type. I think it looks good on a lot of people, but others it just doesn't. I had my hair cut pixie style for charity (it was a choice of shaving or cutting it short). I was willing to go full hog and go bald lmao. But I have sun sensitivity issues with my skin so had it cut short instead :P Personally? I didn't like it and I'm quite petite at 5'1 and in a smallish weight range. My hair style is better suited to bobs or at the longest around the shoulders. Too long and I resemble a mop as you can't see my face.

I recently went short and hate it. I do not have the right face shape and my hair is too fine and limp to get it to do anything decent. I cannot wait for it to grow out - such a mistake for me.

But I do love short hair on those that can do it right. Just wish I was one of them.

square face is a definite bad idea for a super short cut. you see, if your hair is at your jaw-line it frames the face more and makes it looks slimmer. if you get your hair cut super short it will figuratively make you look like your head is a box by highlighting the square jawline.

I love girls with short hair! I love my hair short even if it is a little more maintenance. I wish I had a picture of when mine was short. Im growing it out now. My hair grows so fast I pretty much do whatever I want with it

Thanks for the tips. My hairdresser said I'm one of those lucky few who can pull off any length because of my facial structure. I'm looking at face layouts now, it seems I'm a square head with a pointy chin haha.

I loved loved loved my short hair!!! I changed the color a few times and I just loved it. I am growing my hair out long right now since I have never really had it below my shoulders, then I plan to go back to this hair cut and just cut it all off eventually .
