Kashi - 7 grain flakes is good and low sugar. It taste like a frosty flakes minus the frosty LOL0

I eat original shredded wheat (the large biscuits) with a little sugar substitute.
When choosing a cereal, I try to follow the old rule: Sugar can't be one of the first three ingredients.0 -
Bite size Frosted Mini Wheats are the best.0
-
I have banana nut crunch cereal with half of a banana. Skim milk ..
its awesome and keeps me going to snack time0 -

I make my own, this is the recipe I use as well as the reason I make my own (though I was planning to make my own before that)
While i'm baking it I add honey to sweeten it up0 -
Steel Cut Oats. Forget the processed crap in a box!0
-
My home made muesli! If you search in the forums, you'll find the recipe that I posted there...0

I eat Rice Chex...relatively low in sugar and gluten free.0

well said! You need something with sugar down later in the list. all of the cereals you listed are high in sugar (Mini Wheats too!). Kashi is usually good, but you still have to be carefull of the sugar in those as well. Plain cereals are better....like corn flakes. You can add fruit to give them more flavor.0 -
shredded wheat0
-
Uncle Sam original. Perfect with fruit and plain Greek yogurt.
My other fave is natures path pumpkin flax granola.0 -

I live for Rice Chex with almond milk...maybe a banana...*sigh*
I'd also strongly suggest rolled oats/steel cut oats.0 -
Special K (original) shouldn't be too bad, same with (regular) Cheerios. Raisin Bran is super high in sugar (shocked me).
Anyway, I look for cereal with protien & fiber too. Kashi cereals are excellent.0 -
I don't really pay attention to sugar, but my favorite cereals are Fiber One and Special K Protein Plus. Good stuff!!0

Steel Cut Oats. Forget the processed crap in a box!
I second the steel cut oats. Though on days they didn't get made...Kashi.0 -
Kashi Go Lean.. Great macros and low cal0

There are good cereals out there. Many named in this thread (and previous threads before this).
Then there are GREAT cereals: http://www.mothersnatural.com/ready-to-eat_cereals/rte_peanut_butter_bumpers.aspx0 -

i will stick to cheerios and special k, i also have quaker oatmeal oncein a while0 -
Kashi Go Lean High Protein & Fiber. I looooove it!! 1 cup = 140 calories and it fills me up.0
-
What about switching to oatmeal?0

Steel Cut Oats. Forget the processed crap in a box!
Why forget it? If you enjoy it, and account for the calories, why not have it?
One man's crap is another man's staple!0 -
Porridge, Weetbix/Vitabrits and Oat Brits are my low sugar cereal staples. Plain Rice Bubbles/Rice Puffs aren't too bad on sugar either. Most other cereals seem to be loaded with sugar (including Cheerios, sigh).0

Free and Lo Monster Muesli! with a soy milk and banana.0

I am not sure if you can get this where you are (or anywhere outside of Australia), but I have this most mornings, is it called Protein 1st (by Goodness Superfoods). I find it is a great high protein, high fibre, and relatively low carb cereal. Doesn't tast too bad either! I have mine with some seeds and fruit most mornings, great for after a workout.
If you want to have a look at the website to see where it might be available: goodnesssuperfoods.com.au
and no, they are not paying me, I'm just happy to have found a cereal that fits with what I wanted nutritionally in the morning.0 -
post bran flakes are yummy!!!0
-
While I do eat a lot of oatmeal, I'd have to say Reese's Peanut Butter Puffs take my #1 spot.
But, if you need to track sugar I'd not recommend them.0 -
My favorite cereal is Nature's Path Organic Pumpkin Flax Plus Granola. It is not too sweet. I swear it must have something addictive in it. Yum!!!0
-
oats for sure!
Do you get vitabrits? They aren't overly sugary.
All the other ones I see, I use to up my carb/cal intake to put on weight. I don't know how anyone could call one serving of captain crunch with skim milk a "meal". Fills me up for about 3minutes0 -
Captain Crunch... Just kidding. My favorite is Oatmeal or Kashi0

^ That. I stay away from kids cereal on a cut now, not because I think it's bad, but because I have harder time fitting 4 servings into my macros.0
