    If it doesn't make sense to you, it can be listed with all the other idioms we use in daily language.
    "Spill the beans."
    "A dime a dozen."
    "A piece of cake."
    etc

    These all have reasons.. "let the cat out of the bag" "turn on a dime" "play it by ear" They all originated from something google them.

    A lot of people mistake it for 'thing', but I'm sure it's 'think' - as in, if you think you're going to do that, m'laddio, you'd better think again.... :-)

    It's a British phrase, not an American one and it's definitely another THINK coming. You think wrongly so you need to think again. How can you have ANOTHER thing coming when there wasn't a first thing?
