lol that isn't the whole story either though. If you take away the extra benefits like health and housing my husband's base salary is so far below poverty it would almost be funny. The addition of those things is what makes it possible to live. yeah they pay for the moving, because they give us no notice and a day to report. For instance we had 2 months of notice and have to be in Washington state from NC. I don't have the money to pack up and do that on my own.. .but if he didn't report when they say he has to then he would be considered AWOL and thrown in jail. Besides we don't want them to spend money on returning us to society, because this is the life we have chosen for the next 15 years.
I was going to say the same thing. We don't get to pick where we live or for how long. We lived in California for 4 years and suddenly had orders to Maryland. It took us the entire 2 months notice to do all the paperwork and jump through all the hoops to have our stuff sent to Maryland. There's no way we could have afforded to take everything with us all the way across the U.S. Once we got there we had to live in an empty house for 3 weeks with a one year old and an infant. The amount they gave us for housing didn't even cover our rent in either state.
I don't complain about the pay or benefits (except when they want to cut them) because it's the life we chose. I just hate when people say that we get to much.0 -

Thank you for the dose of reality. I thought it was crazy that the girl said you get free plastic surgery with no reasoning. Happy veterans day! It's people like you that give our services a good name. Great job defending the integrity you stand for!0 -

FYI..they didn't necessarily 'get bigger'..the difference between your band and your chest size just got larger (because the fat in your middle shrunk down). This happened to me as well.0 -

I'm probably gonna get yelled at for it on this post but I'm marrying a marine so it's free.
Really??! Geez, I married the wrong guy!0 -
Mine haven't lost any size, but according to my hubs, they have changed in texture. He says they are more "jiggly" and "not as full". They still fill out my bras pretty well though.0

Not all women lose their boobs. Every diet I've ever been on I lost everything but my boobs, and wish I would lose them. I can spare to lose them lol. I've lost inches around my boobs, but the actual boob sizes is still the same LOL.0

Pretty sure the only person that said they are is an 18 year old who is planning on marrying into the military.... those of us in or married to the military have pointed out a few times that this is simply not true. Besides since my soldier has been at work for going on 12 hours and has another 12 ahead of him on his weekend off... hmmm all the complaining done about the military getting more than they should is a little ridiculous. I invite anyone to step in and do his job for a week. At work by 530am and never off before 5pm.0 -
every time i've lost a substantial amount of weight, i've never lost my lady boobs... which is awesome because they're big...BUT it's horrible for the back...

I invite any one of you to take a gander at the military health care website: www.tricare.com and please please Please tell me where you see breast implants, a breast lift, a tummy tuck, or the all illusion mommy makeover is included.
The only think you'll find is "in conjunction with another surgery in that area". However, if your Miltary Treatment Facility doesn't offer it, too bad so sad, and no they won't let you go out on town for it.
Also, if I HAD been allowed to get a tummy tuck with my tubal ligation, I would have to pay for it myself, aside from anesthesia. Therefore, the "free" procedure would have still been about $3000.0
