I go over sometimes, and sometimes I maintain or lose only a fraction of a pound, or other times I lose even more!
For example, last week, I went over by 800 calories because I REALLY wanted a bacon cheeseburger and fries. I felt really crappy about it, and beat myself up over it. I worked extra hard at the gym the next day, still thinking it wouldn't make up for that damn burger. But two days later, I was down almost 2 pounds! I think the extra calories helped boost my metabolism slightly. More importantly, it boosted my motivation to work harder and stick with my program (the burger was not even that good... and the fries were soggy!).
The human body is cool like that!0
