and go!!

my one roommate talks to her mom every night on the phone. it doesn't matter if me and my other roommates are watching tv, or talking in the living room. she just sits on the couch and complains away to her mom. the rest of my roommates and i will go into our rooms, but she doesn't care.
i like her a lot, but that bugs the crap out of me!!

    My roommate cooks, and leaves EVERYTHING in the kitchen! Like, the remnants of chopped-up veggies, the dishes (without rinsing them), etc... and he piles it all in the sink, without regard for order, or stacking them, or rinsing them or anything! And he's very passive about them, they don't bother him, but it drives me INSANE!!

    my roommate has a grandson(baby) she watches several days a week. he cries nonstop and it drives me insane! granted, this started happening AFTER i moved in.

    Have you tried actually talking to her about it sometime when she is not on the phone and you are not angry. If all of you get together just say, "I'd like to like to everyone about TV room etiquette. I feel angry when I am watching tv and someone else talks on the phone next to me rather than going to her room. Then what are your views on this subject?" I feel statements are the most nonconfrontational way to solve problems like this.

    I had one that used to turn the heat up to 90 degrees! And then is have a power bill that was a gazillion dollars. She also somehow tore up my furniture while fighting with a bf.

    I had a roommate who moved her boyfriend in (rent free), who then moved his friend in (also rent free). So I'd go to sleep every night with the apartment smelling like pot and leave for work every morning with some dude sleeping on the couch.

    Ended up moving my stuff out while she was at work. Yeah, I'm THAT jerk.

    One of my roommates will eat the same meal for literally three months at a time, then change for three months. His breakfast always includes an omelet. But here's what used to annoy me. While scrambling the eggs for his omelet, he would ALWAYS use a glass and a fork, with the glass placed on the little triangle where the two sinks meet. Everyday I would come home from work and there would be a nasty little ring of what I called "egg ****" hardened in that spot. I never called him on it, but also never understood why he couldn't clean off the egg when it didn't require a chisel.

    Sister not roommate
    - uses the bathroom with the door open (ew!)
    - leaves the lid for the rubbish bin open
    - has the tv up way too loud late at night when I'm trying to sleep


    ... but my worse thing is I eat other peoples food so I'm no angel either.

    She also had a nasty habit of leaving cups of cocoa around the room to mold.

    Leaving dishes sit, until every plate or glass etc was dirty, then washing the pot needed for tonights dinner so he could eat straight from the pot rather than wash/clean a dish... I solved it in the end by moving out, but before that I packed away 90% of the dishes as they were mine anyway. Stopped seeing a stack of 20 dirty plates...
    Opening a "new" container of some product when there are still easily usable amounts in the "older" container, drove me batty buying a ketchup or miracle whip to have when the current one runs out and the new one's open...

    My roommate in college accused me of being a racist because I asked her to not yak on the phone at 3am when I was sleeping. That was the end of roommates for me.

    No no no. I wasn't in the room when she did it. I came back after going out with a friends for the night and I asked her why the room smelled weird. :/ I found out when someone tried to link me a video to xhamster. I didn't click it. I already knew.
