A friend and I had a "biggest loser" bet in a month. So far I've lost 12lbs in 3 weeks, eating veggies, not a lot of carbs, 30 minute daily exercises. I've also read some parts of the 17 day diet, and follow the daily meals sometimes. My daily calorie in my fitness pal is 1460, and I average 900 calories daily. I also try to limit my carbs to 55g. Now that I'm in my last week, any tips on how to lose the most in 1 week without killing myself? thanks!
P.S. I'm 5'11 and 212lbs. 3 weeks ago I was 225

900 calories is not enough; if you net under 1200 calories (more for men) a day, your body will slowly shut down. You won't lose weight sustainably because your body is holding on to everything you give it out of fear of continued nutrient deprivation. Up your calories, and you will see sustainable results!0

nine hundr--- no! your body needs AT LEAST 1200 to function. With the amount of activity you're doing, up your calories! you'll lose weight at a sustained rate and a lot healthier, too.0

Do you want to win the bet? Or do you want to be healthy?
Cos if you want to win the bet you should just stop eating altogether for the week. But if you want to be healthy, you wouldn't be worried about dropping weight fast in a week. You've already lost 12lbs in 3 weeks, which is well above the recommended 1-2lbs a week.0 -
900 is not healthy at all. I disagree with the you won't lose as fast if you eat that low, you will. I have done it.. I lost 50 pounds in 3 months eating 1000 calories a day, but that doesn't make it right. The weight came back just as quickly. So what if she ends up winning . Your betting your health.0

Is calories really that important? I can eat chunk light tuna which is 100 calories compared to chicken breasts which is 300 calories, both will make me full.0 -

Calories are a unit of energy; being full has nothing to do with it. Your body needs the energy to fuel bodily functions like pumping blood- that alone will take over 1200 calories a day. You don't fuel your body, it will fail you.0 -
I'm currently taking a nutrtition class and I do have a strategy. If you go back to your suggested caloric intake of 1500 after eating only 900 calories it will actually cause your body to rapidly drop weight because your metabolism will go back to work with more calories and BAM the weight will fly! Pretty cool trick right?0

You keep eating the way you do, you're not gonna have any muscle left. When you're starving yourself like that, your body is going to burn your muscle away too. If you are serious about losing weight, just eat up to the goal MFP gives you and you will lose safely and healthfully.
Seriously, is a silly bet worth your health?0 -
Current research indicates that the faster you lost weight, and the more unhealthy a way you lose weight, the more likely it is to come right back on. You're losing too much, too fast, and not eating enough calories. This may cause damage in the long term. I would recommend to stick to the guidelines of at least 1200 calories per day (and this is a minimum - if you are taller or male, you probably need more than this) to lose weight. If you want the weight loss to stick, do it the right way. When it comes to making major changes in you energy intake and body composition, slow and steady wins the race.0

You're a 28-year-old male eating 900 calories a day? At that rate, you will definitely lose weight. You'll also lose a significant amount of your muscle mass. So when you're done losing, you'll be scrawny looking. But you'll have won the bet.
Once you start eating a higher caloric level again, you will regain the weight. And the cycle starts anew..........
I'd recommend you eat a healthy amount of calories for reasonable weight loss, lift weights, and do a little cardio. That way, once you reach your goal, you'll be trim, buff, and healthy. Just a thought. Good luck either way.0 -

If you do Master Cleanse properly you get to feel like you're sick with a stomach bug or something. It involves drinking salt water and taking laxatives every day. :indifferent:0 -
There are a lot of things you can do to drop weight very rapidly, when I used to box, we had a few tricks up our sleeve but like everyone is saying, it isn't healthy and yeah you most likely will gain the weight right back. The best way is to lose the weight and do it in a healthy way, I know it can be frustrating to not lose kgs and kgs in a week but you didn't put 50 lbs on in a week so you aren't going to lose it that fast either, thats how it works. It takes time to put the weight on and time to work it off.0

I usually have 1200 calories but when I workout, I burn 300-350 calories which will bring me back to 900. will it be better if I won't workout, or just eat more and workout more?0
