Ok so how are you logging thanksgiving?

  • It's one day. I'll run or do my Turbo Fire in the morning extra hard and then enjoy!! The real trick for the holidays is keeping everything to just one day. Eating pumpkin pie every night for three weeks afterward probably will...

Why do you think I spent all this time losing 50 pounds?

The ONLY reason I did this is so I can eat everything I want on Thanksgiving, gain back all 50 in that one wonderful day, and start over again for next Thanksgiving!

    Duh.

I'm mostly going to be consuming clear liquids for Thanksgiving.

    vodka
    gin
    tequila
    white rum

I might toss in some ice and a wedge to lemon just to prove I am not a total heathen.

I plan to log it after entering the recipe for my stuffing and a few others. I will eat in moderation and skip the usual cheese and crackers. I may have a very small piece of pumpkin pie but not eat most of the crust.

Hoping the running of the aisles and Black Friday battles undo any bad that I've done.

I will probably just use what's in the tracker. The same for Christmas. I won't be as hard on myself if I go over but it's better to track than to not (for me). I'm going on a cruise in January and I plan on taking those 3 glorious days off of tracking, so I need to stay on plan and lose as much as I can prior to that.

    ...falafel loaf...
    Intrigued and Googling...

http://www.tasteofbeirut.com/2011/07/falafel-loaf/ is the recipe I use, though I modify it slightly. It's AMAZING and so filling.

I'm not gonna overeat at all on Thanksgiving - its just a holiday created for people to get fat!

Not logging. Run in the AM, then chow town, without going too overboard. There will likely be some afternoon leftover grazing too. Then, back to normal on Friday.

Same here. It's ok to indulge every once in a while.

I will probably try to log it just out of curiosity. But I'm not cooking everything so it will just be a very rough estimate.

you could probably look them up on here and prelog... boston market turkey is what i used b/c 7oz is what they give you... and there are lot of others... just prelog it and look at the portion sizes. i doubt you could go wrong if you stayed pretty close to what you log... or just don't worry about it. it's just one day. you'd have to eat an insane amount to even gain a pound. if you went back to your regular eating habits on friday it won't affect you at all.

I plan on logging, yes, but increase my calories by a few hundred!
and of course I'll still be working out.
All of this hard work isn't for nothing!

I am going to TRY to write up all my recipes. It's 3 days and about 20 items for me to cook for Thanksgiving. I'll try to keep an eye on how much of everything I'm eating along the way.

    bump!!
  • I'm not. I'll be busy toddler-wrangling b/t the 3 family meals we will be attending that day. I give myself one cheat day a week (not necessarily eat all I want, but just don't log but still pay attention to portions/fruit/veg/etc.) so I figure that will be my cheat day.

I'll just try my best to avoid the dessert table and to pile up on veggies.
  • Not logging, but I am running a 5K in the AM to help with the deficit, LOL.

not logging, don't really see a point. I am, however, trying to find a turkey trot so that's something right?

being a vegan really does not change my consumption. so, yes, i will be logging everything, per normal course.
  • Logging, yes I will. It's good to know where I stand. I plan on getting a short walk in first thing or some sort of exercise. Then I am going to be careful with portions and only eat those things that I don't get through out the rest of the year. Such as turkey, cream cheese potatoes (no regular potatoes, I can have them anytime), one piece of pie, etc. Plus drink, drink, drink.

I am not logging that day. It is my favorite food day of the year. I started my diet earlier than i originally planned so I wouldnt just add the weight from the holidays. I will get my exercise from black friday shopping!

I am eating as I do on all other days and logging. I can too easily slip back into old patterns. If I decide to indulge, I will make up for it by not eating much the rest of the day.

I plan to be hunting on thanksgiving, and we always just pack our dinner picnic style....so really I will just add everything up and only take 1200 calories worth of food for me. Then I can munch and eat whatever throughout the day...and once my food is gone, it's gone. :)

running a 5 mile turkey trot in the morning, doing a quick add of 2,000-2,500 calories and enjoying the day with no guilt. :)

General logging on Thanksgiving Day- just in guesstimated ballbark of calories consumed- more veggies and meat, very limited sugary things. The rest of the weekend, logging like normal. Then a vigorous hike and playing hard at the park with the nephews...maybe a pick up game of soccer with my brothers. = )

I borrowed my mom's recipes and added them to the recipe calculator, got nauseous just looking at how many calories.

    Not going to log.

I'm not even going to try to log it. I'm just going to do my best to eat in moderation.

Not logging... just eating reasonable amounts of food, and maybe getting a workout in. Just going to enjoy the day! The day before and the day after though... yep, those will be logging as usual.
