My country grandma called it dressing, my city grandma called it stuffing. So I eat both.

    Stuffing!

This could lead to the Sauce versus Gravy debate! Always interesting...

It is stuffing if it is cooked in the bird, dressing if it is cooked separate. We have dressing, cooking it in the bird is gross.
And dangerous since the salmonella can creep inside the stuffing and may not be heated high enough to be killed. Moist and warm, it's a fantastic place for the bacterium to fester.

Dressing is for salads. I call it stuffing whether it's in the bird or out.
    Exactly! :)

Around my Okie family it's always been called dressin'. The stovetop stuff in the box is stuffing!

I'm from Canada and we usually call it dressing, but sometimes we say stuffing.....we stuff the bird plus we cook some separate.

I'm from Canada, too, and we call it stuffing
