Clutching my pearls.... cold water burns calories now....how many!0

Swimmers are thin and muscular due to the cold water drawing off the heat from their bodies and the body compensating for it.
Thank GOD my sons swim team practices in a heated pool! Those youngsters are lean enough from all of the physical activity 😂🤣 They might disappear if they were in cold water based on this1 -
Sweeeeeet.
I'm totally polar bear plunging this year... BAM! Instant summer beach body.7 -
This poor person has been sick with a cold since 2011.3

A negligible, unimportant amount. If anything, you will burn less calories that day because you sat still in a bath instead of going for even a little walk around your kitchen.1

Yes this would seem a common sense feature.
Have been on many forums eg tripadvisor - where threads get locked after, say, 12 months of no new posts.
They are sort of archived - you can still search for them and read them but not post.9 -

I know, necro thread - but the above is a good point. If one’s goal is to burn more calories, you’d get a significantly greater expenditure from walking for x minutes than you would from sitting in a cold bath (or steam room or sauna or whatever other increased/decreased temperature environment) for an equivalent period of time. Activity will always trump inactivity in terms of calorie burn.
Don’t try to major in the minors - if you’re trying to expend calories, get up and move.6 -

You lost me at Doctor Oz.1 -

That post was from 2011 and the poster hasn’t been active since 2016 so while I agree that Dr Oz isn’t a particularly credible source, I’m not sure your feedback is going to be received on this zombie thread....2
