I think strength training is much more fun than cardio. What do you prefer?

I prefer cardio because I'm better at it/more used to it (I'm not as sore when I do cardio), but I definitely think weight training has its benefits, too, so I do it because I have to! But it's not all that bad!0

Strenght training all the way!!!!
I really do not like cardio. That is why I do HIIT. 20 minutes and I am done0 -
I do both, but prefer strength training.0

Prefer cardio, get a great burn.0

I love running and weights!0

Cardio. Some aerobics that combine them are fun, but for the most part I find strength training to be very boring.0

I love running and weights!
Me too. I like the badass nature of lifting heavy weights and also enjoy the "take off for an hour and get lost" aspect of running.0 -
I like variety so both!0

LOL I will let my World Record in the Bench Press speak for me "D0

Strength!0

I love both, but I am a cardio NUT. I could never choose between the two because they are both essential, but I just enjoy cardio more.0

Whatever I can do outside! That's usually cardio.0
-
Both, because I love doing activities that combine both. Like scaling that Great Warrior Wall in the Warrior Dash.0

I do prefer Strength training.. and always have. But I have learned to enjoy a nice run on a cool morning.0

I like both but i live for my strength training days so i can see my progress. i just read an article in Men's Fitness mag that dispels the rumor that cardio training burns more calories than strength training. has anyone else heard this?0

My HRM confirms that they are both around the same for me.0 -

I've never believed that myth. Both burn calories. How many you burn depends on how hard you work.0 -
You wont be as sore when you do cardio because you aren't really building a lot of muscle. I like both, but there is nothing more exciting than moving my max weights up :-).0
-
I love cardio because I love being outdoors - long hikes and bike rides are the fitness activities I enjoy most. I do strength training two days a week, but only because I know I should. I liken it to eating a vegetable I really don't care for, but know is packed with healthy vitamins and fiber. :-)0

I agree, and its so important to do both!!0

I much prefer Strength training. I see results faster both in my body and my performance/strength.
I also like that it's not as exhausting and sweaty. I put my all into it but it never feels as tiring as cardio.
I do think it's just as important to keep physically fit through cardiovascular stuff though. Thankfully I walk a lot as part of my daily life as I don't drive so I'm never just sitting down all day apart from on weekends.0 -
I enjoy cardio its all I really do but after Insanity want to do ChaLean it looks like a lot of fun and maybe I will finally get some use out of my restance bands and weights lol0

Haha, I've been dreaming about getting to the weight room for some strength training. Probably going to go today. Been doing mostly cardio and some calisthetics. So I think strength training is ultimately where my hear lies. Although I still enjoy my cardio.0

I have heard this too I actually think its true the idea is your body burns more cal even after the work out is done to try and build more muscle0 -
Weights all the way. I don't do any cardio at all. I do think I should, but I hate it, so I don't.0

LOL - see... that's what I love about cardio - sweating and feeling my heart beating faster! I find cardio exhilarating rather than exhausting/tiring. I wish I could learn to enjoy lifting weights as much as you do!0 -
I like both. I like the strength I feel when I do weights, and I know that weights are important for overall health. I like my time on the elliptical, too, though. I can shut down my brain and just lose myself in the music I'm listening to; I also like that it's building my endurance. I do about half and half each workout.0

Ugh I hate stength its so boring to me,I stil do it but I cant wait to finish0

I am a huge believer in Strength training. My weight loss has slowed down since starting it but the inches have been falling off a lot faster. Add in you get these bumps that move up and down and are fun to watch in the mirror.
I try to do a balance between them both. Usually lifting for 30-60 minutes, then cardio for 45-90 minutes afterwards.
I don't think you can fully do just one and get the balanced need for cutting. If you do just cardio you'll burn muscle along with the fat but you will have endurance, if you just lift you still won't have that endurance built up and it doesn't burn as fast WHILE exercising. Now they have said that when you lift weights though, your calorie burning stays higher longer, then after you do cardio. (I'll have to look the article back up at bb.com)
Benefits:
Cardio - massive burns, endurance build up, fastest fat burning
Weights - Helps you keep the lean muscle, strength increase, burn more calories after work out.
Add them together and you have a well balanced person!0 -

That is what I have read too... the process of your body repairing the muscles from a serious strength training session will burn calories for well longer the 24 hours. Cardio workouts, quickly stop burning calories when they are finished... but the biggest advantage you get from cardio... is improved heart heath.0
