What did you want to be when you grew up!

Sooo thought this would be fun! What did you want to be when you grew up? and What are you doing now? I wanted to be a paramedic to help sick and injured people.. Now Im a medical staffing specialist... in a way I still help people as I provide staff that can do so!

When I was a kid there was a time I wanted to be a paleontologist. Loved anything dinosaur related and read up on alot of it. Then it was Astronomy and was fascinated by that too. But I ended up graduating with a degree in Computer Science and am now doing mostly development.

According to my mom, I wanted to be a clown when I grew up.
Ever since I can remember though, I've wanted to be a doctor.
Now, I am in school to be a computer doctor, they complain a lot less!

i wanted to be a pro athlete (swimming or fighting or boxing) now i am "disabled" with a nerve disease and many other medical issues so i keep a happy home for the husband

I wanted to be a vet but instead dropped out and became an accountant and now the head of finance and hr so I get to enjoy animals in my off work time but did pretty well for a drop out hehehe

I remember writing in my little diary when I was about 6 that I wanted to be an artist, author, or a clown (lol!!). I'm going to school for accounting so I guess I changed my path somewhere along the way

It changed all the time. I don't know if I ever really knew. But I always loved filling out forms and doing paperwork, (I was a weird kid, OK?), and that is certainly part of what I do now.

I remember my dad bringing home some routine paperwork and paying me a couple of dollars to do it for him. :laugh:

My mom always said from the youngest age I always wanted to be a daddy and a truck driver. I have been a daddy for almost 27 years and a Training Representative for just as long...being retired military there was plenty of traveling so you could say I got both!

An astronaut and/or pilot, or a marine biologist, or possibly a doctor. But I had so much trouble with calculus in college that I had to get out of the science & medicine tracks. Sigh.

Now I am an analyst for a telecom company. I memorize contracts & tariff information & FCC regs, and then audit the bills to make sure everyone's doing things right. Not very glamorous, but I figure at least I'm keeping people honest.

I wanted to start a women's shelter in Haiti that placed orphaned children in a living situation with women who had no children. I had this awesome plan about teaching them trades, and how to farm so they'd be able to leave the compound and go back to their villages (with a small business loan) and set up farms, businesses, and they'd be able to teach the other women in their communities and it would continue. I mean, I started this whole plan when I was 8. Now I'm 23 and working as a receptionist for an IT company....FML.

I've wanted to be a small engine mechanic since I was 6 years old. Which is exactly what I grew up to do, and I love it!! It's my passion! I haven't been doing it, though, since I got hurt back in June - I'm on desk duty now. I don't hate it, but I sure don't love it, either. I miss turning wrenches!
