People that cook & bake...
I need to buy all new bakeware. Everything from Mixing Bowls, 8x8, 9x13, bread pans, pie plates, etc. My boxes seem to have accidentally been given to GoodWill instead of taken to my new home when I moved.
So, recommendations? I cook - a lot. They must be dishwasher safe. I've heard the new Pyrex is a nightmare, and don't want to go that route.

I'm not really a Pampered Chef fan, but their stoneware is all I use for baking. No other stones have compared and I couldn't live without them. I have a stone sheet pan, 9x13, bread/loaf pan and muffin tins. I love the way the food turns out on them.0

I like all the Pampered Chef stuff. Martha Stewart's line is good too.0

for mixing bowls, I would go with basic stainless steel set from a discount store like Tj Maxx. That's also a great place to pick up tools like spatulas, garlic press, can openers, etc. You may have to hit more than one place to get what you need in the color you want, but you will save about 50%
As far as baking pans, etc...that all depends on how picky you are and what your budget is.0 -
Crate and Barrel is my weakness.0

silicone bakeware is good (according to my friend) and you can fold it up so it stores small
I have a great square cake tin that is 12 x 12 but you can put dividers into it so you can make up to 9 smaller cakes if you wish0 -
I like my Pyrex, old and new, (literally just bought a big set before Thanksgiving) no complaints! I have a TON of it. for baking, like cupcakes, cakes, etc I like Wilton because it doesn't turn brown after one time in the oven like cheap stuff, and it's easy to clean. I'm also a fan of ceramic bakeware from Pier 1. Same thing, doesn't yellow or brown (that's my pet peeve)0

i am looking to buy all new also! been using same for YEARS and they are really falling apart. i do love my pyrex but they are a few years old. I have been researching pots and pans. i would love to go cast iron but i have a bad shoulder and im not sure i can to the weight. ugh....ill watch your answers!0

I don't want to cast aspersions, but movers steal things all the time. My brother has moved several times and had things stolen every time.
You might be able to make a claim for reimbursement.0 -
Costco. Good prices, great return policy.0

Problems with Pyrex? Please tell! I have a lot of OLD Pyrex... What's up with the new stuff?0

anyone have an opinion on the goldtouch non-stick bakeware from Williams-Sonoma?0
-
I was gonna say pyrex stuff...but saw your note on the "new" stuff. Mine is all about 13 years old but I love it and use it all the time! I also bake like crazy but to be honest I hate my Pampered Chef stones for cookies....I only use them for pizza. I use a super cheap baking sheet for cookies and it does awesome. Good luck replacing your stuff doesn't sound like much fun! :frown:0

Le Creuset. Definitely the best all round and will last a lifetime.0

Pampered Chef stoneware is amazing.0

I like faberware or kitchen aid, and the best thing for casseroles or bread is polish pottery0

I know them and can guarantee they wouldn't even want my bakeware or the box of toys that was missing The frineds that loaded the truck to Goodwill and the Animal Shelter, however - they think they screwed it up *LOL* Oh well. I'll look at it as a learning experience on better babysitting skills and an opportunity for new bakeware0 -

pampered chef all the way for baking......not dishwasher safe, but still worth it to me!

totally forgot about all of my Wilton stuff! Wilton products are amazing!0 -
I'll eat it, regardless of where it was baked.0

These are all over TJ Maxx and I was wondering how they were!
I've never had any stoneware except the pizza stone... That's something I hadn't thought about.
And the silicone has great appeal based on storage, so I'd like to hear how you think things cook in it! It kind of scares me...0 -

I love cast iron, but SO heavy!!!! It may not be an option for you!0 -
I swear by Le Creuset, only brand I cook or bake with. I don't know if you can put them in the dishwasher or not, I don't have one, but I do know they are super easy to clean by hand. And they last forever!0

Its nothing to be scared of, I use mine all the time, the stoneware can handle high heat and I use for roasts all the time. I bake in it, roast in it, and even put the casserole dish on the hob directly. Just MAKE SURE you are not buying replica's or cheaper stoneware versions. I suggest buying from Le Creuset website.0

mine go into the dishwasher... no probs0

I like the store brands from William-Sonoma and Sur La table. Heavy duty, dishwasher safe, non-stick and the best prices for top quality. Crate and Barrel has great stuff too. Le Creuset is an amazing product, if you can get it on sale do it. Also, if you have a restaurant supply nearby you can try there for things like muffin tins and sheet pans, (cookie sheets).
If you need pots and pans-- I bought the Martha Stewart stainless steel set from Macy's years ago and I love it! I have found her brand to be very reliable. I don't think I own any of her bakewear, but I would purchase it without a second thought.0 -
I only use Pampered Chef stuff to cook and bake with. I have tons of it. I used to be a consultant but honestly, I was a user of their products before I became a consultant and now that I'm not one I still am one to reccomend it. The great thing about their cookware is that it can go from the stovetop to the oven. Which is awesome. Unless I'm making a cassarole that starts on the stove top (such as quick chicken pot pie) it goes on my stoneware. I have at least 12 peices of that stuff and use all of them. Also, Pampered Chef cookware as a lifetime warrenty on it.0

you'd be amazed at what you can find if you ask. I have a fantastic (and very old) terrine dish which I bought from a butchers in Paris for € 1. He has plenty enough to do without one! Asking in local cafe's and restaurants can sometimes be good...0

for mixing I like just regular stanless steel bowls, mine are like these but came with a lid (key): http://www.amazon.com/Heavy-Stainless-Steel-Mixing-Bowls/dp/B001CECC0E
Or i use stoneware, I have a friend who makes it and I just use his. It's oven, fridge, microwave, and dish washer safe. (Look up Messer Mudd Works on facebook).

LIDS! OK, totally good idea there.0
