I will be joining a gym soon but that may be a few weeks, I'd like to get started on something now!
I know there are thousands of get fit, keep fit, lose weight, etc dvds out there, so which ones have you tried? Which work, which don't? Which ones do you prefer?
Thanks in advance!

Jillian Michael's "30 day shred" pops up on here OFTEN!0
-
I love my Jillian Micheal's 30 Day Shred. Full body circuit workout that only take about 27 minutes with warm up and cool down.0
-
I just cam across this website... bodyrock.tv.. it has a ton of pretty intense workouts on there and they are free.0
-
Turbo Jam with Chalene Johnson.0

I love Billy Blank's Tae-Bo workouts. So fun! Empowering to kick and punch - He's very upbeat.0

Turbo Fire. The only dvds I never get sick of!0

Another thing to consider is to use your DVR if you have one. Gilad's bodies in motion is on every morning on fit tv at 4am, I record it, and have a new workout 5 days a week. I like it better than a dvd because it's super effective, but different daily, so you don't get tired of the same thing all the time. Changing it up keeps your muscles working!0

I've tried JM 30 Day Shred and I am currently doing Ripped in 30 and The Butt Bible (also a good workout). But if you do decide to join a gym...check out Zumba!!!! Its fun and helps you lose inches off your waist!
Personally, I dont agree with spending so much money at a gym when I can do it all in the comfort of my home BUT everyone is different!!! Either way...whatever route you decide to take...I wish you the best!!!!0 -
*Dance off the inches fat burning bellydance* ( you can get it from target, walmart, amazon etc...for $10 or so is fun... zumba, and TURBOFIRE! ...those are my favorites! Also if you are looking for something that still burns calories, but is not super intense... leslie sansone's walk off the pounds dvds....0

Denise Austin helped me lose a ton of weight and she has ten minute work outs!0

I use Wii Fit, EA Active2 on my Wii. I also to AM/PM Yoga. Pilates is fun too. Zumba is awesome. I'm still trying to learn how to move my feet and arms at the same time.0

Chalene Extreme --- or any by Jillian Michaels.0

I have been taping some stuff on my DVR so I can try them before buying. Only drawback is you have to fast forward past the commercials. I tried Gilad and Denise Austin. Both were good.0

30 Day shred is cheap ($10) and it's not a bad workout! That's a good place to start! If you're up for a challenge and have a little extra money to spend, anything by beachbody is great too! they have tons of different programs to suit your workout style!0

I can see me enjoying this JM one!
I don't mind joining the gym, my doctor is sorting it out for me so I wouldn't have to worry about paying.
There's actually a Zumba class on tonight that I'm thinking about going to.0 -
The JM DVDs are great and really inexpensive. If you are looking for a program, go no further than Rushfit. I am head over heels in love with it0
-
Insanity is great0
-
I love Turbo Fire, I lost 12 lbs and 13 inches at the beginning of the year doing it. Turbo Jam is a little bit easier but still awesome if you want to start with that. Good luck!0

I've had friends who have tried the following:
Zumba Fitness Total Body Transformation System
Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred
P90x & P90
Insanity
Billy Blanks Tae Bo
Skoggs System Kettlebells
Yoga for Cardio
I personally have used the Skoggs System Kettlebells DVDs and they're pretty good, but it's completely up to you what kind of exercise you want to concentrate on, whether it be aerobics, weight training, or other. Look at each system and read people's reviews on sites like this or amazon.com to see what kind of results people have achieved (I rarely ever look at the product's website for reviews because they usually take only the absolute best weight loss stories to make their product seem like the best.)
What I've seen and heard from friends is that they've had better success using multiple DVDs and mixing it up from week to week or month to month. Not only does it keep things different, but the intervals help to work different muscles and keeps you from getting bored with the same routine.0 -

You should go to the Zumba class!!! I do Zumba on my Xbox & I LOVE it!!! You don't even realize that your working out & you can burn a TON of cals!0 -
I'm definitely going to have to vote 30 Day Shred - almost done - one more day!0
-
Zumba can be overwhelming the first night. Make sure you take the class at least 3 times before you even think of quitting. I love it! I have noticed that I am losing weight differently than I have in the past. More off my waist and upper body.0
