Hey BodyRockers! (Do I sound like Zuzka?) and NEWcomers!

First of all, if you don't know what BodyRock is, check out the website at bodyrock.tv. You will be in love, but please don't be intimidated. There are modifications for all exercises for beginners.

So here's my proposal for a bodyrock challenge to keep us all motivated in the month of December. We will compare our repetition numbers and add some extra challenges for each week (extra burpees, jump roping, eating protein etc). Let me know if your in!

There is one problem I am already foreseeing that you guys may be able to help me out with. We might not be able to follow the workout schedule on the website exactly as the new workouts are sometimes posted later in the day and I know some of us are morning rockers.

Let me know! I can't wait to connect with you!

Hi there! I am a bodyrocker from NM! Count me in!
  • I've never heard of it before, but it looks great!! I'm going to give it a shot!!
  • Hey all! You inspired me, I checked out the website and found the schedule. On the 2-3 days per week when it says 'new workout' which one do we do? Do they post them that day? or pick our own?

    Thank you!

That means that at sometime during the day they will post a new workout to the website, depending on what time zone you are in the usually have it done later in the afternoon or evening. They have been shooting a lot of new workouts lately so it just takes them some time to get them uploaded

so should we post our numbers here??? Starting tomorrow (Dec 1st)? And 1 more question, will we all be following the schedule and on the days where it says new workout, should we all pick our own or do we all want to do the same as each other?? Thanks! :flowerforyou:

Okay! So here are the guidelines for this challenge:

We will follow Zuzana's Workout schedule on BodyRock.TV and for "New Workouts" I will select an optional workout from the past workout archive and you may choose to complete that one or the new one (reason for this is sometimes the new workout isn't posted by the time I want to do my workout for the day).

We will BodyRock 6 days every week until December 31st. I know December is a crazy month, but that's why we are doing this challenge. BodyRock Workouts only take 12-20 minutes a day and you can do them at home.

We will go Sunday to Saturday like the schedule on the site, but we will start our EXTRA added challenge early since its Thursday.

**Add 5 to 10 minutes of moderate-paced jump roping after each BodyRock session. Let's turn the fat-burning furnace up!

Also, take measurements of your thighs, arms, belly, and bum if you haven't already.
    Here are mine:

    MikaylaRae:

    Arms: 11.5"
    Thighs: 23.75"
    Bum: 39"
Belly (1 in below belly button) 35"

Did the 550 Rep in 28:14 with 10 mins of jump roping with a few breaks. By the end of this month I swear I'll be able to jumprope for 5 minutes without stopping!

I love this group! I'm going to keep it open all month in case others want to join in -- because that's what it's all about anyway, right?

    Thanks ladies, great first day!

Count me in, sounds like a great idea, especially since Bodyrocking is all I've been doing for almost 2 years! I did You Da One early this week so instead of that one as my Friday workout, going to do the new Bust it out!

Just finished Mission Abs and I'm dripping with sweat.

    squat with 20lbs: 27,17, 19, 18
    knee raises: 24, 20, 22, 17
    ankles x-ed push-ups 11, 12, 9, 8
    1 leg toe touch: 22, 28, 19, 18
    flying jump lunge: 24, 22, 20, 13

Holy *kitten*, that felt good. I'm now going to to do 4 mins of tabata with high knees then 5-10 mins jumprope ( I suck, but I'm practicing)

Ever since starting to BodyRock occationally since August, I've never done it 3 days in a row! I can't wait for rest day tomorrow. I'm going to go to spinning and yoga and CHILL out and get ready to rock next week!

Hmm...I wonder if they'll be posting it this week? I'll make a temporary one for now.

Monday: ( I like your ambition Itsoni) 1000 rep challenge --If your a total beginner try to only do 3 rounds or more...let us know what you did and how you feel about it. Just ask yourself, are you pushing yourself for the MAX? Its the only way you will get results.
    http://www.bodyrock.tv/2011/11/28/it-will-rain-sweat-1000-rep-workout/

Tuesday: Booty Fat Melt Down http://www.bodyrock.tv/2011/10/24/butt-fat-melt-down/

Wednesday: If you Really Want More http://www.bodyrock.tv/2011/10/18/if-you-really-want-more-workout-beat-your-personal-best/

    Thursday: Sexy Supreme http://www.bodyrock.tv/2011/10/19/sexy-supremacy-workout-2/

    Friday:Shake it! 250 Rep Challenge http://www.bodyrock.tv/2011/11/01/shake-it-250-rep-workout-with-bodyrocker-jess/

Saturday: Wicked Things workout (This is one of my personal favorites I come back to)
    http://www.bodyrock.tv/2011/09/19/wicked-things-workout/

Sunday: Active Rest Day...you better at least stretch after this!

ADDED CHALLENGE...add 4 mins of Tabata after your workout. If you're unaware of what tabata is it is 4 minutes of INTENSE cardio intervals with alternating 10 second rest periods and 20 second work. There have been studies proven that these workouts (when exerting MAX effort are AS EFFECTIVE as 30+mins of cardio (Look it up if you don't believe me  ).
    So PUSH IT!

Here's some exercises you can do with tabata:
    Jumping Jacks
    High Knees
    Burpees
    Step-Ups on a stair
    Mountain Climbers

    Hey Guys,

I wanted to make another comment about the equipment used in these videos. I personally do not own a single thing they use. I improvise.

Interval Timer: If you can download apps on your phone there are tons of free HIIT timers or tabata timers you can adjust the intervals. Otherwise, if you watch, oven, microwave, with a timer, they all work.

Dip Station: I use two chairs that equal in high back to back about a foot and a half apart. Put them on a yoga mat or carpet so they don't slide apart. For reverse push-ups I just put a broom stick across.

Sandbag: We have a few dumbells at my house that I usually substitute for this. Be creative. What do you have around the house that's kinda heavy? I squatted holding my 20 lb puppy the other day.

Remember, if you're a beginner, really REALLY pay attention to your form over max reps. This is SO important. You could hurt yourself.

Thanks again everyone for joining in this challenge. You are so motivating!!
