Taco Bell does it for me every time!! An hour after eating Taco Bell and you could eat off my colon!!0

How about eating healthier foods, adding more fruits and veggies and drinking a lot of water and tea? If you make everything yourself from whole foods you will not have to worry about as much 'toxic sludge' being in your body.0

Exercise. Cleanses your mind and your body.0

Fresh fruits and veggies and lots of water. Veggies like beets support your liver and help keep lymph moving. especially when you also eat the green tops. I use a juicer and drink my veggies, its an easy way to get in all the servings you need. Bottled juices are NOT the same - they are cooked and condensed then artificial nutrients are added back in, along with a lot of sugar.0
-
I second that! Your liver, kidneys, and intestines know what to do and they do it well.0

jump up and down
"Rebounding gets the lymph moving. Toxins and waste products don't get to hang around and cause trouble. As you bounce, the toxins are moved to the ducts which take them to the liver and kidneys. Rebounding is wonderful insurance against a broad spectrum of serious illnesses. And it's great fun! I feel like I'm 8 years-old when I'm bouncing on my rebounder. All of my 75 trillion cells are on the same page, doing the same thing."

I'd agree under normal circumstances, but when you need the occasional "cleansing" drink Senna Tea. It's an herbal stimulant with no weird side effects. I use it once a week. Cost about $4 bucks at Krogers :drinker:
An important step in detoxing is elimination right!?! The point in doing a detox is to purge the junk out of your system.0 -

"The liver and kidneys are nature's best-kept secret, because they are the weapons to eliminate toxins from your body," says Gerbstadt. "If you are concerned about certain substances in your diet, it is easier and safer to simply eliminate [those substances] rather than engage in unhealthy detox plans."

According to Chau Che MD, with New York University:
"Despite evidence to the contrary, the idea that colon cleansing is therapeutic by removing impurities, lives on. However, these claims largely fail to consider normal physiology. The digestive tract has inherent properties that work to clean our colon. After food ingestion, the small intestine absorbs nutrients and contracts to move indigestible residue into the colon. The colon continues the digestive process by absorbing and secreting electrolytes and fluids while its resident bacteria ferments the undigested food products. These are just some of the many mechanisms in which the digestive tract works in order to ensure that the colon does not become encrusted with fecal matter as some products claim. The black, rubbery material passed on a colon cleanse is actually a byproduct from the supplements and fiber in the colon cleansing product as opposed to old fecal material, in which consumers are led to believe."

I just started a 10 day cleanse I picked up at The Vitamin Shoppe. I am on day 2, so will see. But I want to get rid of toxins, what is in my colon and clean out body. Hoping to keep this eating habits I am picking up while I cleanse. I am following the instructions which as some people said.. eat healthy. Fruits, veggies, organic etc.
Here is what I am using, any feedback from others I would like to hear if they used it.

Don't waste your time, money or health. The body does an excellent job of "cleansing" itself. Just treat it right and it will treat you right. There is no "clease" as effective as simply eating well.
"The best way to 'detox' the body is simply to let your body do its job. Unless you have a medical problem, your body takes care of itself quite nicely, experts say.

Well said! What does research prove anyway? How does evidence and data stand up to the 1000s of years of archaic methods used by our ancestors? ! It can't be wrong if these methods have been used for so long!0 -

No miracle cure I don't think and "detox" products have been proven to be nothing more than a marketing ploy. Just a well balanced diet with lots of veggies and fruits and plenty of water and you'll feel better in no time!0

Anyone have good natural ideas on how to cleanse the Toxic sludge out... I have been eating horrendously :grumble:
