Hey Everybody, Before joining MFP I started eating 1200 calories a day.I'm 22 and 5ft tall, I went from 164lbs to 156lbs. I then started the 30DS and lost 4 inches on my hips. I just finished my first 30 days. I feel great and love that I lost 4 inches, But my scale hasn't gone down and I want it to.I thought maybe 1200 calories was too little since I don't eat my exercising calories, which is about 300 calories a day. So I decided to make my daily calorie intake to about 1300 calories a day. I was wondering what other exercises I should do in order to shed a few more pounds. Please let me know what has worked for you or any suggestions you may have. thanks.

If you just came off the shred, you probably did lose fat weight - it was just converted into muscle weight. Instead of focusing on the pounds, I recommend focusing on the inches. They're far more telling.

Have you plugged your numbers into MFP to find out how many calories you should be eating? I agree - 1200 is probably too low for you. I went to 1200 for a while and stopped losing altogether. Now, I'm a bit over 1300 and losing again.

I haven't seen lots of people lose weight with 30DS mostly because you are building muscle while doing it. Muscle is lean so you will get smaller but trading fat for muscle means you can still weigh the same.

If you want to lose fat, do cardio along with 30DS. Eat your exercise calories so you don't starve your new muscles.

I do a lot of exercise (>500/day) and I could not possibly live on 1200 cals a day. I stick to 1500.

I agree with the other poster, you probably lost fat and gained muscle (muscle weighs more than fat so you wouldn't see it on the scale) since you lost inches. I would see what MFP recommends. As for other exercises, cardio of any kind is always good. Walking/Running is one of the cheapest out there but you can also get workout DVDs or fitness video games. I just got Zumba 2 on my Wii and I love it!! I did it for an hour today and not once did I think I was working out (burned 600 calories!!). The key to being able to lose the weight and keep it off is to find exercise that you enjoy. If you loved 30DS (which I do!!), do it a few times a week instead of the 30 days along with other exercise.

The one exercise that will never ever fail you is Walking, Walking and more Walking...I have only lost 15 lbs but i try to stay away from gimmics or fad diets because after you lose you have to keep it off!....Good Luck!!!
