Howdy there ladies!
Just curious, at what age did you get your first barbie doll? To me 4 seems young but everybody is telling me I'm nuts! lol

I think I was about 6..? I didnt play with them though, I played with my brother's He-man, transformer & GI Joe toys. :bigsmile:

i don't remember when I got mine, but I think my daughter was 3 (or younger) when she got her first Barbie.

I got my daughter one at 2 years old.

I got my first toy machine gun at 4!

I had a sister who was 4 years older and a cousin 2 years old who I was with daily. I don't remember life before barbies, but I ended up more into them than either or them so as I got older I got the gear (house, car, camper, clothes).

I don't remember. I just remember not having a Ken doll. So I butcher cut one doll's hair so she could be the boy.

I was about 5 I think. I remember when I got a black barbie - I was like OMG this is the greatest day of my life.

My girls are 6 and 3 and Barbie has been in this house for many years....I dont remember an age.

I was a tomboy so I grew up playing with dinosaurs tonka trucks and also hula hoops,chalk,bubbles and crayons. So my aunt bought my first Barbie @ 10 and I didnt know what to do with it cause I outgrew that doll stage and I was REALLY into Pokemon. xD I wanted to be a Pokemon master.

A question. Is there a reason this thread is ladies only? I remember clearly being a little girl, sitting on my front porch on a summer day with all my Barbie and Ken dolls and houses and cars and clothes and shoes strewn everywhere and the cute little neighbor boy sitting with me and playing.

My grandma was obsessed with them, so I'm sure I had at least one as a gift at my baby shower... In other words, I've had Barbies since before I was born.

My daughter was around 3 I think, but she never really got into Barbies:) She liked playing mommy to her baby doll more

We weren't allowed to have the normal barbies, we had the ones me mom had as a girl, the flat chested ones with short hair. My mom didn't like the way barbies distorted the female body. I was smart enough to be best friends with a girl who had an extensive barbie collection, she was 4. My daughters won't have them.

I was 10 and the only reason I got one then was because my aunt and uncle gave it to me. I was a total tomboy. I still have her though. I started collecting the collector edition ones in my 20's thanks to my husband who gave me the Barbie as Wonder Woman. Now I have about 75 all in boxes, all collectors edition. Which is waaay better than the over 200 that I used to have but sold them to make mortgage payments when my husband was out of work. Yes, they really were worth that much. I had the first 8 lingerie barbies and sold them for $850. I could have gotten more for them but since they were all going to 1 person I gave her a price break on them.
