MFP Half Marathon!!!!

I would like to invite all of you to join me on March 17, 2012 at 10:00am CT for a half Marathon run. I had the idea for this after my first race last week. I was thinking "man I wish some of my MFP friends were here to see me or run with me!" So this is my invite to you all to get out there and earn your 13.1 sticker, baby!!! If you don't think you have enough time to train for it, don't worry! Like most races, just do what you want: 1mile, 5K or 10K, etc. I don't care if It takes me all day. I'm getting mine = )
DATE: March 17
TIME: 10:00am CT
WHERE: Anywhere you want to run! The gym, school track, treadmill or just hit the streets
TIMER: Phone Apps, CardioTrainer, GPS watches. etc
plz invite your MFP friends and if you're in the same town team up and run with them and post your pics and screen shot of your times!

I love this idea! I will not be ready since I haven't even began running at all but I will definitely start working on it, and maybe try to get ready to do a 5 or 10k0

Very cool idea. I might have to adjust the start time a little bit though - 10am your time is going to be sometime late night here ... maybe I'll do it at 10am Saturday my time.
Any Aussies up for the challenge? Perhaps we can make a southern hemisphere time?
Or a southern hemispere v northern hemisphere challenge....

I'm in. I'll be training for a late May half so this will be a good long run for me. Plus March 17 is my anniversary so a good day for a run so I can indulge at dinner. I may have to do it at 10 my time though (EST).0

I will play. I am certainly not in fast half shape right now, but I could slog through one, and anyway this gives me some time to improve and a reason to get out and train in the rain. I think 3/17 is the end of my spring break at school, too, so I won't even be stressed that I should be reading or writing or studying something instead of running for two hours. Great idea!0

That's 2 weeks after my 10K and 4 weeks before my half marathon. I'll mark it on my calendar. Great initiative!0

My wife and I are running our first half on May first, but we're with you in spirit and will run a 10k on 3/17.0

How's everyone's training going? What are you all up to for a long run? I did 7.6 this weekend and felt pretty good. I am starting to think about my personal race route.0
