    4. Alice in Chains (with Layne Staley)

    AiC is my #6 lol. Have you heard the new album? It's freaking SPOOKY how similar this new guy sounds to Layne, and that is not a "common" sounding voice.

    No kidding!!! I flew over to Hong Kong last year and the plane had it on one of their music channels. I listened to that one album all the way there and all the way back. It's definitely a work of art.

    This is a bit difficult for me to narrow down considering I have nearly 15,000 songs on my iPod and the music genres run from Classical Music all the way through to extremely aggressive Metal.

    In no particular order or genre:-
    - Johnny Cash
    - Slipknot
    - Rammstein
    - The Beatles
    - Giuseppe Verdi (yes, I know that he's a composer and not a musician but I'm trying to spread the love across all the genres of music I listen to) :tongue:
    Which reminds me. I wish the 28th of February would hurry up an arrive. I have my tickets bought for Rammstein (for several months now). It;s the first time they're going to do a show Ireland.

    Nine Inch Nails (preferably from Pretty Hate Machine to The Fragile).
    The Smiths
    Tori Amos
    The Beatles
    Ani DiFranco

    ...Just five?!? You're killing me here! However, in my eyes Trent Reznor wins above all else. :D

    Fiona Apple is the only one that never gets knocked off the list.

    Nine Inch Nails isn't far behind.

    Also Alice in Chains and any band with Dave Grohl or Maynard James Keenan.

    Paul Simon - best songwriter ever

    Yeah, that's all I have. I like a lot of different kinds of music - pretty much a little of everything - but Paul Simon is the only one I have ever been a huge fan of.

    Say Anything, Motion City Soundtrack, Blink 182, Ice Nine Kills, The Used.
    My current favorites change, but those are the ones that are always favorites, even though I don't even listen to The Used's new music, their first two cds have a special place in my heart. lol

    3. James Taylor

    5. Nirvana

    This is only for popular music. Jazz has it's own special list, as does classical music. Ooooh and then there are musicals. Can you guys tell I was a music major?

    Of all time... tricky as I go through phases and I listen to the same music too much then get permenantly sick of it... I guess ones that have stood the test of time for me are:

    * Aretha Franklin (goddess!)
    * Duran Duran
    * The Cure (mainly 'Disintergration')
    * Depeche Mode (influenced by my husband, but I genuinely like them - from the 80s to the current album)
    * Florence and the Machine (may or may not stand the test of time, but I love and love her now)
