Working out actually helps relieve the pain during your period.. yet increases the flow.
So I guess, moderate exercise would be great!
To be honest, i don't exercise a lot during my period... but I'm trying to change that & so far it's really making me feel better...0 -
, do you continue working out that day or do you take it off as a rest day?
yours is one day?
For the pain yes just one day, but the whole thing nope... about for days.
but i take these pills that my uncle gave me which helps stop the pain in 10 mins.. but my period does continue to come normally. I LOVE THE PILLS!
Oh btw lol my uncles a doctor so he's not some unprofessional person giving his niece "Drugs"
Well, I don't have any severe pain with mine. Are you on any type of birth control? I've heard it usually makes it better.
NOO!!!! never ever take birth control, it will F up your period. and BIRTH CONTROL is a no no too (on my list anyways because it makes you actually gain weight. i Know few of my friends ever since they started taking birth control they ended up gaining weight.)
but the pills that i take now to help with period pain is called "NAPROXEN TABLETS 500MG) THEY ARE THE BEST AND ANYONE CAN TAKE THEM!0 -

Strong feelings. Any research to back this up? I've been on it for nearly 10 years, to correct my period. It worked.0 -
I do not change my routine because of my period. I exercise anyway.0
-
Gentle exercise helps (walking, leg stretches) but I have serious cramps so anything more than that makes me curl into a little ball.0
-
From a medical standpoint, you must rest the very first day of having your period... and on the second day, you should take it easy, dont do too much working out. I asked the doc's and nurses all around me a while ago and they all seem to say this much0
-
Okay Ladies...
You know when it hit time of the month, do you continue working out that day or do you take it off as a rest day?
Why would I take a day off?
If it's a workout day, then I workout.0 -

Not yet but i am looking into it researching on it at University. but i know for a fact for me and my mates that have gone on birth control it makes you gain weight and most times it stuffs up our period cycle.. but if it works for you thats great. but if i find any information on it, you be first to know ;-)0 -
Just wondering ...if its normal not to loose any weight that particular week...as i dont tend to loose any....maybe as the body is bloated up!! Anyone have any similar issues??
I definitely have similar issues. I wouldn't weigh in during that week because I retain a lot of water during and a few days after. I tend to not exercise because I get it so bad but I will try going for a walk. Anything that may help relieve the pain I am for it....besides getting a light workout while relieving pain is always a plus.0 -
i don' have issues working out...but i eat and eat and eat... and i crave chocolate. the first three days its nuts how hungry i get.0

yeah thats what i got told by my two uncles who are both doctors.. but do i ever listen ..?? Nope!!! lol okay sometimes ahahah0 -
I work out0

There are many foods to eat to relieve the pain too.. like pineapple, bananas, almonds, green veggies. Try to avoid sweets/caffeine they do increase the pain.
Drink warm, noncaffeinated beverages. Green tea, hot chocolate or fruit teas may help. Drink plenty of water to tackle uncomfortable bloating.0 -

It's great you posted this! I actually had a GYN appointment yesterday and this (birth control) was one of our topics because I am so heavy, last 7 days, retain water and the pain is unbearable. What she said to me was great and it's that everyones body is different so therefore everyone's symptom to the particular birth control they are using will be different than the next. I'm going to try it and see if it helps. If I experience any weight gain or anything else I will let her know the symptoms so she will know to change the birth control to something else.
You should give it a try. If you gain weight then just change the type of birth control you are using. Remember eveyone body is different so everyones reaction will not be the same as the next.0
