The last few topics I've created have only gotten a few responses and they were only from people on my friends list. Don't feel bad. There are sooo many topics on here... I honestly only reply to ones that pop up on the side of my homepage. I only go into the message boards and scroll through if I have a lot of time. If it doesn't pop up, most won't click on it. You got lucky this time

The answer to your problem is cats.

No. The answer is always 42.

    Did you remember your towel?

Whoa. Hoopy froods popping up on this post? Who would've thought?

why don't you add new friends and not look for sympathy... i was invisible too and i took time and added a bunch of friends and guess what im not invisible anymore.
of course its easier to post a topic and see people commenting and adding you but thats not how it works.

I was going to reply but it seems there's no original post, just a bunch of people making replies...

Sorry about the responses you are getting on this thread...it has become ridiculous lately with negativity. I hope you find the supporitve people that are on here to become friends with and that can assist you with your journey. I am a little concerned about your post though and I would suggest speaking with your doctor...you sound a little more than down...but depressed. That is concerning to me. We all have our down moments...but don't ignore your feelings if it is more than that.

Hi this website is great for support and the like but the one thing you should never do is force yourself on people, this thread has clearly irked people the wrong way & I don't blame them. When I posted my introduction thread I got 1 reply and 1 reply only but I didn't start a thread about it demanding people be my friends... it's counter-productive!

From experience those who get the higher reply counts are those with a story to tell in their introduction thread, in reality the isn't much you can reply to in these sort of threads.... I started off replying to intro threads often but eventually realised I was just posting the same generic messages over and over.

Join a group, find like minded people and become friends! Good luck with your weight loss, but this thread was a tad unnecessary... no this isn't me having a go at you but just trying to explain why you got the reaction you did.

no, i'm not being rude, it's actually for your own good! there's a bunch of people here who are being "supportive" by telling you you are a wonderful person without even KNOWING you. (I mean, please)
What i hate to see is when a person is talking bad about themselves (like, nobody cares about me in real life).
How can you be so rude to yourself? Treasure yourself, you don't need anyone's sympathy to feel special...when you can just add people and that way you'll get a bunch of comments and real weight loss support!
nobody can help you if you can't help yourself.
Stop with that "nobody loves me, i'm so worthless" attitude in forum as well as in the real life!
And now call me rude if you wish!

    To the OP...

I'm going to be honest.... I read the title of this post and I was INSTANTLY put off....

Why? Because I can't relate to the "woe is me attitude"....

I'm not sure what you were you wanted to achieve with the post.... but you put this out there, so you really should take the negative comments as well as the positives.

You've been given a lot of good advice.... I suggest you take it... be more proactive...

    Dear posters,
While this thread has offered some positive and uplifting posts, it also has some 'unsupportive posts as well'. I am locking this thread because this post is to easily able to transfer into 'nonsupportive posts', so I am deciding to lock it where it is. To the original poster, look at the positive posts, take in what knowledge and advice was shared, and try to move forward. MyFitnessPal is a community, and the best way to get noticed is to become active. With the various sections, groups, sub forums, status updates, message and friend system, Im sure there is a way for you to find that sense of community that works best for you.

    Enjoy your stay on MyFitnessPal,
    _Ben
