How much sleep do you get?

I get between 8-10hrs on an average night but sometimes as much as 12hrs. I was wondering how much sleep you all get. If I don't have my amitriptyline (to help with night pain) then I'm lucky if I get between 2-4hrs.

I get 8 at least. Sometimes 10. Okay with 6.0

I need my beauty rest *ahem*, so I usually allow myself anywhere from 8-10 hours when I don't have to be up and doing stuff. Typically, I need 8 hours, but I can get by with 5-6. Not happily, I might add.0

I do really well with 7-8 hours on work nights...I can easily sleep 10 hours on the weekends if I don't have to get up early (or I just take a lot of short naps!)0

Wow, 8-10 hrs? In my dreams, haha. 6-7 is the norm. Wish I could get by on less, days aren't long enough.0
-
6-7 is a minimum for me to be functional; 8-9 is average/ normal work a work week night; and and on weekends and the occasional holiday break, 10 - 12 hours is a decadent luxury!0

Not enough, probably 6 hours nightly. I sleep lightly.0

What is this sleep thing you speak of? And how do I get it?
Lol. I have a baby who never sleeps, so on a good night I probably get 5 hours. Haven't had a good nights sleep in a year and a half. Im starting to get used to it.0 -
I usually sleep like 4 hours, 6 at max which is rare. if I sleep any longer it makes me feel extremely tired for some strange reason.0
-
Five hours max. I've been this way for years! Wish things were different...0

Average term time, 5 hours.
When staying with my parents, 11 hours. I have to catch up some times!0 -
I get 6 hours on most nights. Sometimes its less. I miss sleep.0

I am surprised by how many people actually get a full night's rest! I am one of those that manages to, although some nights it is interrupted sleep if my preschooler is having a bad night.
I thought the majority of Americans weren't getting enough sleep. Sounds like most of us are.0 -

Me too :grumble:0 -
I routinely have 7-8 hours, weekends I'm much the same as I get up to go to the early morning swim session, I don't have to get up quite as early as for work but I tend to stay up a little later at the weekends so it works out the same really.0

During the work week, I get about 7-8 a night.
On the weekends, I sleep in & get about 10 hours. It's amazing.0 -
6 hours on average.... then once every few weeks it catches up to me and I end up sleeping like 10 hours. :noway:0

8-10 hours....I am not good unless I have at least 9! Sleep is not a problem in my life =D Thank goodness0
-
usually 4 hrs. if I'm lucky 6 my family has always been this way wish I could sleep 8. My husband and kids sleep late and I have to be quiet.0
-
I like to sleep 7-8 hours.0

I take a medication at night that knocks me out for a solid 12 hours. And if I don't take it, it makes my whole system out of whack. Gotta get that changed... 12 hours is waayyyy too much.0

Anywhere from 6-9 hours. Most nights it is 7 or 8 though. Just depends when I go to sleep. I get up at 7am every morning of the week because my dog needs to go for a walk at that time. If it weren't for the dog and if my kids would be quiet in the morning I could sleep 12-14 hours on a weekend no problem. Sadly that doesn't happen! Maybe I should have asked for a weekend morning dog walker for Christmas??0

I need at least 10 hours, but on weekdays I usually only get 8. On the weekdays, I sleep usually 11 hours.0

I love how you Americans assume the world is made up of other Americans. :flowerforyou:0 -
I generally get about 7 hours. Occasionally 8, my internal clock usually has me up after 8 hours regardless of my alarm clock!0
-
I shoot for 8, but settle for about 6.
Problem is I can't just lay down at 10pm or midnight and just fall asleep. Usually takes 2 hours or so.
Part of that is the work schedule, I do the odd morning so am up at 5 or 6am sometimes.0
