Ok, I know this is kinda off topic of what MFP is all about but I need help! I'm due to have a baby in 6 weeks and have no name for her. I have a son named Isaac, so simple, pretty common and not totally unheard of.

Please help me by posting some ideas...............I have a few, but nothing my husband will agree on and his names are nothing I will agree on either.....

This is my last resort, or my 7 year old son is naming her. :)

Thanks!

What names have to both vetoed-give us some ideas of what you hate! My rule when naming my kids was the name had to have a good nickname and when I used first, middle, last it had to sound good being yelled! I have boys

It is never good to have a 7 year old name anything. My son named his pet "Crayon" when he was 7. He later named his cat "Bunny".
What about a combination of you and your husband's name?
What is your nationality? His? Maybe a name to match your culture?
What about religion? Are you Jewish/Christian/other? Name from your bible?
Is this a boy or girl? Maybe something unisex, like Camden or Cameron?
Want an "I" name to match your son's? Inez, Isaiah?

I just re-read your post that said that you are having a girl. Sorry about that.
  • Some cute original names I've heard lately: Raina, Asher (but that was a boy), Ardis and Lainey. I've always been fond of Morgan for a girl.
  • seems like you want to go the more traditional route and he wants to go more unique. I have always loved the name Naomi, because not a lot of people have it so its more unique but it has a really soft sound to it. Its more of a Southern name I know but I am from the South. My Daughters name is Layla Grace. After I lose this weight I want to get pregnant again, if I have a girl it would be Sophie Ellarose.

Well, I was thinking more along the lines of Charlie Chan's naming convention for his kids, but... once they get a look at the kid, it might fit that way too.
