    I really hate week 6 day 1 level 3.
I'm sore all over from working out on Saturday, so I wasn't in the mood today. I made it through.

Marla, you're not a lame-o! You're still here aren't you? You are doing awesome! You are my hero!
DM, Week 4 is hard! I was stuck there for a long time. Hang in there! You will do it!
Duffyzmom, I still feel it in my lower back but it's when I get further along, like at 50. I used to feel it around 20 or so, but you get stronger over time. You're doing great!
Awesome job Cham on getting 10 planks in! Whoo-hoo!
CP, I think you'll catch up pretty fast to where you were a couple of months ago. You work hard and are in good shape so it'll come back quickly. Congrats on getting to the 200's again! That sounds wrong on a weight loss website.
Everyone else that I missed: keep up the good work! You all are my inspirations!

I did it! I was tired, but I went ahead and did pushups today so I could get back on a M-W-F schedule. I hear ya on that week 6 day 1 stuff, MM - great job getting through it. I decided to do level 2 instead of level 3 (I was on week 5 level 3 last week), but it was still brutal!

    Week 6 - day 1 - level 2

I took a couple of minutes between each of the last 2 sets. Only 195 today.

Edited to add: Marla, you are sticking with it, so you are definitely not lame. I'm amazed that you have any energy left at the end of the day! :flowerforyou: And everybody else - you are doing great and it is so wonderful to see you all pushing yourselves - up!

Duffyzmom, working out with a migraine? I couldn't do that. Maybe a walk but not all that bouncing around. Hope your head is better!
DM, looking good! I like your new picture!
    How's everyone else doing?

MM: Thanks for the concern - believe me it wasn't pretty but I'm hooked on toning now and just couldn't stand the idea of not doing anything today. Everytime I see your numbers I say "I think I can - I think I can" I know what you mean about mid section problems. I've been doing ab work for the last couple of months consistently and still feel like I have a long way to go on core strength. Next month I finish up my 90 days of Power 90 and I'm going to have to find a more intense program. Any suggestions?

Today's push-ups were pretty difficult for me. I'm scared of what week 4 will bring.

When I'm doing push-ups, my lower back will start to hurt before I've finished my set. I assume it's because I don't have enough muscular strength in that area. Does anybody else feel that lower-back burn? just me?

I just BARELY made it past the minimum on that last set... I was struggling. 217 total!

Cham, I think a lot of folks have had that problem. Try to keep your abs in really tight while you do your pushups and it will help to support your lower back. One good ab exercise that relates really well to the pushups is just holding a plank position for as long as you can. I was definitely feeling it in my abs today!

I have it and was considering switching to the girly ones to see if that made a difference. I guess not so instead I'm going to do more planks and supermans on my ab day to try and build up more core strength.

Good tip, I wasn't focusing on tightening my abs at all while I was doing it, which could explain the extra strain on my back. TY.

I've been practicing holding plank position in yoga. Hard to believe not moving can be such great exercise.

That's one thing I have learned doing the push ups is that it's not just about the arms and chest. It really is a full body work out. My abs are pretty weak and I believe that's why I have not finished the challenge yet.
I am taking today off except for the push ups in 30 Day Shred. I want to test tomorrow and finish this challenge! I would test today but I'm a little sore in my shoulders from working on my car yesterday. I hope I don't just push out 60 tomorrow and bomb out after doing 93 last weekend! :noway:
Everyone looks to be doing great! See you tomorrow!

I have not done my push ups for a week & a half! Why oh why did I stop?

I think I'll start again tomorrow. I like to do them on my walk days TU, THU, SAT. I'm less tired on those. MWF are my run days and I've found that doing pilates after feels really good. Plus it's good for the core.

If you don't see me here someone come and drag me out to do the pushups!

Felt so much stronger than Wed. Plus - I seem to do much better when I add them into my Power 90 Strength Circuit - I just ignore Tony and do my last 4 sets while he's doing his push-up thing.

I know what you mean - on my run days I'm just conserving energy to have a strong run.

I know I should find something else for core strengthening and hear great things about pilates. I've also heard that if your form if off it is a waste of time. I think I'd have to do it in a class or studio where someone made sure I was doing it right before I tried it at home.

I am only in week 3 and it is getting really hard. I wanted to do the "real" push ups but have been having to do girly ones to finish. I am thinking of doing week 3 again-see if I can get it right. I do think I am seeing a bit of a change in my upper body, a little bit, so I don't want to give up.

I've got to start this challenge over again as I got sick and wasn't able to do anything. So, starting tomorrow I'm back on it.

So tell me if this counts. If it doesn't then oh well. I'll test again on Monday. I got up to 78 and my knees fell to the floor. It took me 2 seconds or less to realize I needed to finish and got back up. My knees fell again but I got right back up and made it to 100. I am guessing my knees are falling because my abs are not strong enough. :grumble: I may retest on Monday anyway to see if I can make it all the way without falling. DH says it should count but I don't want to be cheating according to my fellow push upers. I will get there, hopefully this week.
Kimono, hang in there! You will get stronger and you will be able to finish!

MM, Congratulations:drinker: I'd count it! It I ever get that far I'll be counting it!
I'll miss seeing you on here but knowing it can be done is a huge encouragement!

Are you going to keep doing them? When I finished the situp challenge I quit the crunches. I do pilates and that seems to work the core better than crunches. But the pushups seem to really help the arms so I'd like to keep them in my workout routine even after I finish.

Again, Congrats on your 100 pushups:drinker:

    Thanks Keiko!
I will keep doing them. I am not getting down as far as I'd like. I may go back to week 3 and work on getting down a lot lower than I have been and maybe even changing hand positions to work different muscles. So I will still be here! You will get there too! It took me six months, instead of six weeks.
I will try to post some pictures with my hundred push ups shirt on later!

MM - I think you should count them but I know what you're saying - I'd probably feel the same way.

Did my end of week 4 Exhaustion test this morning. 35 and number 35 wasn't so pretty - I'm pretty sure my booty was sticking up. But 35 is a long way from the initial exhaustion test of 12 so WHOOPIE!!!!!:drinker:
