Thought I'd be disappointed being dropped back a level but today I was lucky to get through level 1. The good news is my back wasn't bothering me but since there weren't reps over 20 I'm not surprised.0 -
Wow, 7 pages on this thread. Nice job, PUPs!
I tested over the weekend and managed 80. (At least I think I did - I count in tens and am always afraid that I skipped one.) So today, I am officially back on week 6, level 3 - until I finish like MM!!! :drinker: Again - way to go, Melissa! You rock!

It's funny how I start to psych myself out with the counting. I burned through the first 40 on the last set pretty quickly, and then realized, 'wow, I've already done 40 and I'm not dying!' Right then I started to get tired... Still, that's ... 263 total?
I feel a little bit better about not going all the way down to the floor in plank-style... at the end of my aerobics class tonight, we did some conditioning, including pushups. The instructor didn't go all the way down either! She probably went about halfway - arms almost 90 degrees but not quite.
Keep it up, everyone! :drinker:0 -
Great job everyone! I'm glad you all are still here!
Congrats Keiko on getting back on track! It is hard when you've been gone a few weeks but you'll find you will get back in there pretty quickly.
Marla, and Cham, you ladies are doing awesome! Keep it up!
CP, I psyche myself out with the numbers too. I think that's why it took me so long to get to 100.
I'm still around and doing push ups. I have to admit I was a little embarrassed to post because I did make it to 100 but it wasn't going all the way down to a 45* angle. It was more like the 90* angle in the elbows, which is fine. The reason I felt embarrassed is because I was up to doing about 250-300, 3 times a week, and this week I went back to week 3 level 1 to do them slower and at a 45* angle.:blushing: Oh my goodness! The first day I was so sore! I was working muscles in my back that hadn't been worked in a long time.
I will do day 3 tomorrow and test this weekend to see how many I can do. I will stick with this program as I know it is working and I feel so much better doing it. Even though, I really don't like push ups.

First day of 8 sets and I must say I liked it. It really helped me deal with my lower back issues. I'm really starting to notice muscle development in my chest. I am so gonna be ready for tank top weather0 -
Week 3 Day 3 level 1
I was pressed for time so I didn't do many extras. I was sore from working out yesterday too. I am curious about how I will test this weekend with going lower and slower. We'll see!
Have a great weekend!

Week 4 Day 3 was just too hard for me. I tried last night and I was exhausted after the first two sets. I am going to go back to Week 4 Day 1 until I can do those all in good form. My body just hasn't caught up yet!

245 total, I think. Not fabulous form at this point in terms of speed (I go as fast as I can) and height (I am going to maybe 90 degrees at the elbow) - but I don't care. I am going to follow in MM's footsteps and FINISH, and then go back and work on going lower. Honestly, I think it was a good thing for me that I continued on by changing my form a bit instead of getting stuck at week 3-4 forever... I think the rest of my body, particularly my core, needed the time to catch up - and I was getting frustrated. Pushups really work a lot of muscles in your whole body... towards the end of the long sets sometimes my legs start shaking! I could go back now, but I think I am close (within a month) of finishing - I want to make it to 100!0 -
Life kicked me in the *kitten* this week-- I got some pushups in 3 days this week, but nothing "official."
Try again next week-- same bat time, same bat channel-- week 4, level 1.0 -

Better day today than last couple. I must be getting stronger because I noticed that my lower belly is brushing the ground in my push-ups. Ah the joys of motherhood, I knew all that hanging skin would come in handy someday. I bet if I went without a bra these old saggy boobs would touch too?:blushing:0 -
starting today at week 1, column 2
never really been able to do push ups so i hope this works! :happy:0 -
Aw, so close! I tested today. I was counting myself, and my husband was also counting. I made it to 90 - but until I stopped and my DH told me otherwise, I thought I was only at 80. If I had known it was 90... maybe I would have paused for a few seconds without dropping and tried to struggle through the last 10. But I think I am close!!0

Hey, I'm still around. I've had the flu this week so no push ups. I will start again on Monday probably with week 3 level 1 or 2.
Good job Keiko! Come back on Thursday!
To the rest of you, keep it up! I'm glad to see how many of you are still doing it! It's not easy, but it is worth it!

Having a bad neck week so I'm just trying to maintain for now. MRI showed a herniated disc so my doctor won't even let me do PT until I see a nuerosurgeon. I dropped back to Week 4 Level 2 and plan try and do this until I get further clearance from the surgeon. The good news is a herniation at this level can cause muscle weakness in the biceps, triceps or deltoids so if I get this fixed my 100 may be more attainable.
