Hello all! I can't believe I have to go back to work tomorrow! I lost one pound this week (weighed on Friday) which is my goal so that is good. Yesterday I did 30 mins on the elliptical and 20 mins on the bowflex. Tonight I did Walk Away the Pounds 3 mile. mrsyac2 I am glad that you are feeling better. Just remember don't push yourself too hard at the gym tomorrow and relapse! Hope you all have a great day tomorrow and I'll check in when I get home!0

I made it through work! Found out today that my schedule may be changing again and will know more tomorrow!! I hope it doesn't because I am just getting motivated to get my workouts in:grumble: Anyway, I am hoping to find another job soon but this is not the ideal time to be job hunting:laugh:
Hope you all had a great day and blessings to you!!:happy:0 -
Super long day. 11-8 shift and then my husband flew to texas today, so when I got home at 9, I had to take the babysitter home and then go shopping, and finally get dinner. I just got done with everything. Good thing I have tomorrow off so I can get my butt to the gym.:yawn:0

The thing about the chiro - it seems that everyone I know who goes, has to KEEP going. So...I mean if they "fix" you, then why do you have to keep going back? It's not a "I'd like to go back" (like a good massage), but "I NEED to go back or I can't function" kind of thing. I'd rather not start something that will become a necessity. That's just my two cents!
If it works for ya - then great!
Why do you want to go to the chiro? Back problems?
Usually, you have to go to the chiropractor for several treatments because the damage has been done over time, and that (like weight loss) can't simply be reversed in a single treatment. Often your muscles have grown accustomed to holding your bones in the wrong place, and you have to adjust them several times before they "remember" the right spot. Once you are "fixed up" for the most part, you can change to a checkup schedule, or only when you feel like something is out of place. I used to go quite often, and always felt better afterwards. My insurance doesn't cover it anymore, so I don't go.0 -
hi everyone!!!
mrsyac- Take it easy on yourself. being sick takes so much out of you. Working out diverts much needed energy from your body making itself better.
I went to the gym today and worked out. I really didn't want to, but I guilt tripped myself by thinking that if I stayed home on my day off, what would stop me from staying home on days I work? Then it would give me an excuse when I'm tired, then I wouldn't go at all, and why did I waste the money, and still be out of shape and yada yada yada, so I got sick of hearing myself whine and got up and went. Overall, I'm glad I did. Still very tired though.:yawn:0 -

I am taking it as easy as possible however tomorrow is my workout day -Mondays are my off days- I am so excited about working out tomorrow I miss it sooooo much I can't wait- I realized and have excepted that I will not be to my half way mark by my birthday which is in 2 weeks but that doesn't stop me from trying to hit my big goal by summer.0 -

hello and welcome- take it one day at a time nice and slow- something just as tracking what you eat everyday- don't focus on your calorie right now just see how much you are actually eating everyday then start tweaking it so you get closer to your alloted amount of calories- then get into the exercise start going for walks (intentionally) - if you can get to the gym hit the gym. -- Or start a workout routine at home- just start slow- slowly cut calories here and there- there are easy ways to cut a 100 calories here and there- Good luck0 -
Had a terrible day at work, didn't even get to take a lunch, then came home and ate so much I went over my calories by 200! I am going to bed and starting tomorrow as a new day and a new chapter!:bigsmile:0

Hello, I'm a working mom of a sweet 17 month old boy. I'm required to work 10 hour days, 5 days a week. We are very fortunate that my hubby is able to be a SAHD; however, I find myself incredibly jealous of him. The boys have so much fun all day long as I sit behind my computer. I would give anything in the world to trade places with my hubby, but there's no chance of that. I make really good money and I have awesome benefits and retirement. So, alas, here I am on the working mom's thread.
I think as I woman, I am finding it difficult to balance being a good mom, wife and employee. It always seems one thing suffers at all times. I feel guilty because I feel like there's not enough hours in the day to meet everyone's needs. I try to tell myself it's the quality of time that counts, not the quantity. I, too, am a neat freak that had to let it go. My hubby is awesome at keeping the laundry clean, the dishes cleaned and the floors vacuumed. Who cares if there's clutter on the counters. I am looking past it because I'd rather spend my precious few hours at night with my boys.
For workouts, I have found that early mornings work best for me. My boys are still sleeping, so I can leave the house easier. Fortunately, we have a gym on the 13th floor of our office and it's only $100 a year to join. I am a fitness freak, but unforunately, can't get my eating habits down. I'm trying to find the balance so I can drop some weight. I'm afraid my body has become too efficient and that's why I'm overweight but physically in great shape. I've started a new workout regime for the month of March and have pledged to keep it going. So far, so good.0 -
I work as a finance manager full time with a half hour commute each way. I have two kids but am on the downside of being taxi mom. My son is in college now and my daughter is 16.
We wake up at 5 am to go to the gym before work starts. I am trying to go swimming 3 times a week so two evenings a week my sweet husband makes dinner while I swim and then I get one time in on the weekend too.0 -
mollyk- I know it sounds weird but an electric blanket is the worst thing to do when you're cold. It ups your body temp and slows circulation and when you come out you're twice as cold. Best bet, take a hot shower, get in flannel jammies, and lay under regular blankets, maybe with the electric on your feet. You'll be so snuggy warm. I am also very ready for warm weather!!!!!
i swam for an hour yesterday and being back at work is kicking my rear. My daughter eris is all aboutthe gym though, so I'm going to enjoy the weekend off (kinda, still have to work) and hit it big time on monday!!!
Keri - I didn't know that about the electric blanket! Also I was reading on another site that iron deficiency can also lead to poor temp regulation. Maybe that is something (I don't eat a lot of meat - I'm not veg, but just not a hard-core meat person). Seriously - I don't know why I am so cold if I'm not exercising. Driving the in car, I have to turn up the heat and blast my hands until they burn, and I'm like ahhhhh. I like the shower idea (I take super hot showers in the AM) but I hate the idea of getting OUT of the shower
Good job on the swimming!0 -

I'm up at 5:30 almost every morning and it most definitely gets easier the longer you do it. I know that if I wait until after work to try to workout, 4 times out of 5 it won't happen. So, if I want a workout, I have to get my *kitten* out of bed and just do it. It also helped that I set a goal to be at the gym every weekday for the month of March. I don't want to let myself down. I'm also finding that I have more energy during the day when I have a nice hard workout in the morning. The other added bonus is that I beat the morning rush hour. And living in Dallas, that's a big deal!0 -
hello ladies! Today was my first night back at the gym since I got sick and knocked on my butt last week (i only worked out 2 days lastweek)- But tonight was a good workout 506 calories

Tomorrow is Cardio legs0 -
Good job mrsyac!! My schedule at work is changing and on Mondays I will get home an hour earlier so it should be easier to work out! I work out at home - we have an elliptical trainer and a bowflex, plus I have about 15 workout dvds of different kinds. Yesterday was better than Monday so hopefully I am back on track. Today I am starting PMS which for me is the week before and during TOM so it can get rough! Woke up with a migraine and sore back but I am hoping when I get home from work I can at least do a Walk Away The Pounds dvd as those are pretty easy. Hope you all have a great day!
Blessings!!:flowerforyou:0 -
