    mustard has 0 cals, try dipping something in mustard like celery, cucumber or carrots! Thats what I do!

    lettuce, pickles, sugar free jello, celery, Walden farms ranch dressing, walden farms peanut butter (not very good though), sugar free popsicles

    stay far away from Walden Farms foods. They are FRANKENFOODS!!

    How about if you just don't worry about it. Going over on one day will not ruin everything. And stress is bad for weight loss.

    MEH....I wouldn't say good...totally artificial and totally runny...but a good zero cal dip for celery when you have nothing to spare!

Weight Watcher followers consider many vegetables free to eat (they don't count the calories) and give them a zero point value (you can google WW zero food lists easily)

    Celery is VERY low in calories.
    Water/ice.
    Pickles have 5 calories per serving (if they're dill.)

    Weight Watchers participants don't count calories at all, so you can't compare their "free" foods to using MFP. As I stated to another member earlier today, many fruits and vegetables have over 100 calories per serving, you can't ignore that when you're counting calories. I am only saying this so newer members don't get confused.

    I think the poster means "processed, chemically created food". Some people here are very against eating anything but whole, "clean" foods.

    I hate to be a buzzkill, but just because it has zero calories per serving does not mean that there are zero calories if you eat 8 servings. It just means there is less than 1 calorie - so if you get all crazy eating something with zero calories all day long you might end up with a few calories in the end.

    Not that 20 calories makes a difference. Just had to throw that out there.

    I thought if it's less than 5 cals, they can legally mark it as zero calories. I never looked it up myself, but it makes sense.

    At night, if I'm still hungry, I do a serving of sliced deli turkey. 6 slices of the oscar meyer lunch meat I buy is only 50 cal and is at least a little bit of substance!

    Sorry, Captain, it wasn't my intention to imply you shouldn't count the calories my thought was that if you choose from this list you would YES count the calories but the choice would help towards your weight loss even if you went over your calorie goal. If you are still hungry, you have to eat but if you choose wisely and carefully you can still lose.

    Ok, I know of a magical 0 carlorie food. There is a noodle package at certain health food stores, it looks like rice noodles in water. It is solely meant to be eaten late at night when you have run out of calories. To me it looks rather sickly, though it is zero calories. I would always set aside 200-300 calories a day just in case you find yourself late at night craving food.

    The thermogenic-burn-canceling-out-the-food-you-ate concept is a myth, based on the science. If you have reached your calorie goal for the day, and then consume more, you are lowering the deficit that has been created by MFP, and will lose less weight.

    How about just going over a little today, so that you can eat a sensible meal, and balancing it out against deficits for the rest of the week, if a few hundred calories extra is a major concern to you?
  • It's not the act of chewing that makes celery "negative" calories, it's because it is a catabolic food. Any catabolic food is great for dieting, this is a good starter list! If you eat your calories in these foods versus processed or carby foods, you'll (supposedly) burn more calories and loose weight faster!

    Personally, I love the Walden Farms Ranch & Bacon Ranch dressings. They say it's zero calories per serving, but if you check online it's actually 2-5 calories per serving. Either way, I really like them

    Well, technically celery is not zero, but it might as well be... It takes more calories to digest it because of the indigestible fibre. So, it is a bit like eating negative calories (albiet not by much... something like one or two calories per stick?)

    Walden Farms has a whole line of foods that claim zero calories. I saw them at a health food store. Never tried them, not sure what the hell it could be. They also have a web page.

    The first item on this list should be an indicator that something isn't right here. The average apple is estimated to have 80 calories. If you eat 6 average apples a day without counting it, you'll have already eaten back your deficit and won't lose weight over time.
