Post here if you hate your Job

But even so, you don't have to leave your company. You could always be on the lookout for internal opportunities as well.
YES.0 -
I see two solutions:
1. Leave your job and take the huge risk of not finding another one. Remember that the grass always looks greener on the other side, but sometimes, it's just a big patch of brown. No guarantees the new job will be any better (if you can get one).
2. Suck it up and deal with it. Be thankful you HAVE a job because so many people do not. Find good hobbies to occupy your time that you can look forward to. Be proactive and positive as much as possible. You can look for another position while you are still employed and give yourself the time you need to find one that is actually better.
we need a love it button. I stated I hate accounting but I wouldn't leave, got a kid to support and I was raised to "suck it up" life isn't easy, survive or die those are your options.0 -
I don't like my job. I've been working from home for almost a year since the company closed the northern office and made people redundant. I missed the cull as I'm seconded to another department. I hate working from home. I get so lonely. I'm looking forward to my secondment ending in the summer when I'll take redundancy.
Luckily I'm studying to qualify as a social worker and in a couple of years time I'll be starting a new career.0 -
I would like my job more if I were busy...most of the time I am busy for a couple of days and then BAM - nothing for days at a time...I can't stand sitting around doing nothing hence this is why I am on MFP so much...I HATE being bored, it drives me crazy....I am starting school next week to get my Bachelors Degree (Accelerated Program)...will get my degree next year and hopefully can find a better more interesting job. Sad part is that the pay I have now is really good, excellent benefits, good company...just so darn boring.....oh yeah...did I mention I hate being bored?0

OK, so GET ANOTHER JOB!
Come on folks; just siting around sniveling about a problem does nothing.
If you are unhappy in your current position, get out!
Make a transition plan today that will reasonably move you into something you are more suited for.
A good vocation must engage your passions as well as your skills. And can the difference in what you may lack be made up through training, additional education or experience? Don't just curse the darkness; do something about it.
Do that TODAY!
Take action TODAY!
Again, moaning and crying does nothing, and misery may love company, but your misery in your job is optional.
Success and happiness is a choice.
Make the right choice today.
I, Sir, happen to like moaning and crying! Hence keeping the job I hate! Thank you very much!
Well said....0 -
Some of you might wonder why , I just don't go somewhere else. Well, I am working in the US with a worker's visa. Transferring to another company is not impossible but it is a very complicated process. I might eventually be able to leave but I am not sure when.
It makes me sad that so many people who say they hate their jobs, who are people who have perfect freedom to search for another job, don't even bother looking, whereas there are those such as yourself who have genuine difficulties really do have something to complain about!0 -

I knew someone would post something like this! haha
The title of this thread is: Post here if you hate your job.
Gotta love MFP!
You may not always like it, but reality is what it is - even on MFP.
And BTW - I LOVE MY WORK!
15 years ago, I didn't, so I took action.
And so too should anybody else unhappy in their current position.0 -
I don't hate my job...so much as I hate my boss which makes going to my job miserable.
^This.^ especially when your forty-some year old boss likes to talk **** on you to your friends that also work with you, so obviously they're gonna tell me. He's like a freakin teenage girl starting drama. Even found out he read my facebook when I accidentally left it up at the end of the day. (we're allowed on the internet when we're not busy.) BUT, I need a full time job and definitely don't think I'll find another one anytime soon with the way the economy is. I'm just thankful to have a job period but it definitely makes me feel like I'm being trapped there. Hate it but it's whatever. I'll find my sugar daddy eventually.0 -

a very defined title and responsibilities were clearly defined as well. Now whenever something is not handled properly or needs attention it is given to me. There is also no salary increase for constantly being given new responsibilities. I feel like I am running in 100 directions every day trying to give so many things my attention.
This sounds just like MY job!0 -
I have been trying to get out of my job for 9 years now. I have applied to everything even if I'm not fully qualified. Seems I am pretty stuck right where I am working for a complete male donkey. But I try to come in with a smile on my face every day, even when I see his truck parked in front of the office. I will continue to look for a different job, even if it means a small pay cut. i would quit if my family could afford to live without my check. Keep your chin up, good things come to thoes who are patient.0

And challenging people to empower themselves instead of just sniveling makes me mean -

I don't think you're mean, but maybe you just enjoy feeling superior.
btw 15 years ago we were in the middle of the Clinton administration, dot com boom, massive economic growth and prosperity, and I'm assuming you weren't on an H1b visa...0 -
That being said, job opportunities for an actuary are pretty good when compared to other fields. It sucks for the OP, because leaving out the visa issue, he could very easily take a well paying job elsewhere within his field. Actuarial math is difficult and not popular, so actuaries are in fairly short supply...0

I usually wouldn't complain about a job because I am lucky enough to have one, but I currently am suspended from mine right now. I am a hairdresser who just moved to Milwaukee, WI not too long ago. My boss suspended me because I couldn't get enough models in to show my stuff on. I have been doing hair for years now, so it's not even that I don't have the skill. I just can't find as many resources as she wants me to. The other girl who started with me has done way less than what my boss wants me to, and I have done some of those models better than she has. She always gives me a hard time and calls me out on things that coworkers even find ridiculous. It's almost been a week now since my suspension..and I am just like kajsfkajdsfkajsd.
rant over0 -
I hated my job, totally loathed it. I used to work at a funeral home, talk about depressing!! The money was fantastic and I needed something to pay my bills while I went to University. I used to get the creeps just being in a room alone with a corpse. I used to dress the bodies and also greet family/friends, that kinda thing. I still dream and can smell the sounds of that place...hated it. I now work as a registered dietician and hold a part time position as a personal trainer at the gym right beside the hospital, I don't work there for the momey..just for the free membership it provides to me and my family! lol Sometimes going back to school is the only option..0

If a person is not happy doing what they are doing, then write some kind of a transition plan.
All I am saying is DO SOMETHING!
Take action.
Instead of talking up the problem, offer some solutions.
Setting vocation goals are no different than setting fitness goals.
Both require a plan, and both require action.
Those who don't make it are those without direction or the ambition to do something other than complain.0 -
I have been working for a big fortune 100 company as an Actuary for four years now. I hate the job. It makes me feel miserable 40 hours a week.
I know if I stay longer at this job , I will have a stroke or become very stressed and depressed.
Some of you might wonder why , I just don't go somewhere else. Well, I am working in the US with a worker's visa. Transferring to another company is not impossible but it is a very complicated process. I might eventually be able to leave but I am not sure when.
I run into different kind of people everyday who hate their job as well.
If you have the opportunity to leave , do so. It's not worth it to stay at a job you hate.
We spend tremenduous amount of time at work , I think one will live longer if you enjoy what u do.
That's all.
I don't right now, but I remember that feeling. Nothing lasts forever - you'll get through it, and keep yourself fit and well to cope with the stress. Kudos for not doing the 'easy' thing and quitting.0 -

I'll refer you again to my previous post. The problem with your posts in this thread is that, in your rush to demonstrate your own superiority, you have not listened to the OP's actual problem. I know it might be hard for you to grasp, but sometimes we do get stuck, we do get into situations we can't get out of. And the best we can do is cope with that. The OP is trying to find a way to cope with a very difficult situation. Who are you to judge him for wanting to vent a little?0 -
must admit I havent read the thread but the title speaks to me . . .I hate hate HATE my job now . . .we were taken over by a new company 3 months ago and they are a bunch of arseh*les . . .Im desperate for another job, but hugely incapable0

I work for Animal Control.
I wish I could afford to study full-time.
I won't be looking back on any fond memories at this workplace when I complete my degree.0 -
I am working with the worst class ever this year & today & yesterday I felt like I hate my job...but then there are moments when they are actually quiet & doing what I asked them to do...or if I let them dance on the carpet...or when we all bond over the sudden appearance of a mouse or a roach that I realize I really like these kids! lol now if there were less interference from other grown ups we might make some progress...0

Id love to have any job had to quit mine in 2008 to take care of my mom haven t found a new one, I"m losing my house Id love a job to hate0
-
It's not that I exactly hate it, it's just terrible.
I used to be a dental technician and liked the mostly solitude of the lab. My loss of eyesight in one eye messed that up.
My current job is as a host in a restaurant. It is TERRIBLE!!!! So many people are rude, especially cause of my accent - coming to think of it - I guess I do hate my job after all.
Fortunately I am taking some classes in the future and hope to become a computer technician - and I am in my 50is.0 -
Just made this rant then saw this post and was like perfect... I love one of my jobs... I hate the other. The that I hate I only work there like 2 days a week. I'm floater in a restaurant. I can work any position there. Whatever they are short handed it that's my job except on Tuesday then I'm maintance all day. Yesterday I came into work and got in a fight with my boss about not working fulltime. I don't want to, she thinks being there is a career, not me. So I yelled "F" You across the bar at her in front of customers. So I cleaned the floor behind the bar with a toothbrush (no toothbrush isn't a punishment its the only way to get around the pipes... but cleaning period was). While doing my job last night working on machine maintance (take everything apart clean it put it back together), a customer yells to me "ma'am I'm ready to order" note I'm shoulder deep in a giant machine looking like I'm artificially inseminating a cow. I attempt to turn my head in her general direction and say "a server will be with you shortly". Oh my god this chick blew up! She starts screaming about how rude I am and wanting to speak to my manager, blah blah blah. So my boss dealt with her who was already mad at me from earlier and wanted to talk when I was done knocking up the machines. So we got into another fight about how my priorties aren't right and I need to focus on my job there. Good thing my shifts end on Tuesdays when I'm done with maintance. I left her mid sentence with "eat me", clocked out, walked out.
Today is my day off... I went and got 2 new cartilage piercings making a total of 7 so far in the ears and one in the chest that is visiable in uniform. Got a text message "Corporate office coming in tomorrow for evaluations. Cover all piercings and tattoo". My uniform is a low cut top and black mini skirt, I have brandings of rose vines up the backs of my legs like stocking seams that they consider a tattoo. If I'm serving you food do you really want me with both ears completely bandaged up, a giant bandage sticking out the top of my shirt and both my legs? Ill look like I need to go to the hospital.0 -
my job would be okay if it was not for the company that drives us they suck0
-
i work as a valetor and solely handle every single sold and stock car that pass through the dealership. Its tiring, dirty, cold wet and The pay is awful and its literally the same thing, day in day out. It is however a job. And there is nothing locally to go to, i have checked. :sad:0

I don't dislike my job, I just don't like the people running the company. The owner is jewish and i am not trying to stereotype, but he's cheap .0

I'm not sure of the relevance of mentioning his Jewishness, if you're not engaging in ethnic stereotyping. Surely if you weren't stereotyping, you would have said he was cheap without attaching an ethnic label?0
